This 100 year old home is absolutely gorgeous. The owners have taken great care to preserve the historic integrity and still provide modern day convenience. The furnishings and decor take you back to when this home was built and you can imagine what this area looked like at the turn of the century. The kitchen is well stocked with items you will need to make meals (I would suggest bringing some extra throw away items: sponges, plastic bags/reusable storage containers etc.) A washer/dryer made it easy to pack light. The beds are all comfortable and the bathrooms are large (start up toiletries were provided until we were able to get to a store). We loved the sitting room with the switch on fireplace and the game room for family time together. The hot tub was great after a day of hiking and large towels were available in the game room area. We were in close proximity to the downtown area and two grocery stores. We were a short drive to Deep Creek, Cherokee, Alum Cave, Soco Falls and Lake Fontana for hiking, boating, paddle boarding and swimming. There was construction on the road, which the owners revealed prior to our stay. There are some run down areas further down the street, but we did not go down that way as there was a lovely yard to walk our dogs. Outdoor porches/seating where everywhere to enjoy the view. Check in and check out were easy. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a family vacation that all of us will remember!
