family getaway

We loved the house. It was clean, well stocked and spacious. We loved that the beach access was right across the street, however this is not a beach for sitting/sun bathing, when the tide is in there is no beach. It was perfect for walking and finding sand dollars. It was a great house and location, just be prepared to drive a short distance if you plan to spend the day at the beach and play in the water.

We had 7 adults, a 17 year old, 8 year old & a 18 month old and we ALL had a GREAT week!!! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful and well equipped house, bikes were an added bonus. Beach for sitting on is now a drive (or bike if not taking chairs/etc) away since waves come up to the brake wall across the street. Water is mucky (we were told due to stream now that comes into the beach) so we missed the whole swimming in blue ocean with dolphins while relaxing on beach which is why we used to come to Jekyll - but that is not the houses fault. The house was wonderful and had big table for games/cards/dinners. We will most likely not come back to Jekyll but it is not the accommodations fault (although the whole separate rental of linens is a pain)

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Island Breeze. The layout was perfect for our large family. We really appreciated the well stocked kitchen, all the kids toys and the bikes. The beach access is great other than the large tide pool at the bottom of the steps. The metal roof made for a soothing sound when it rained. All the seating inside and out is great for a crowd. The spacious driveway and garage gave plenty of room for all our things. This house really has it all and made for a relaxing time away. My only suggestion inside would be to replace the louvered doors with regular doors to allow for more privacy.

We really loved this house. We had 8 adults and 2 children with us on this trip. The house was very spacious and we had plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen was stocked very well and everything was clearly labeled. Beach access was a little rough since they was doing construction directly across the road but we made it work. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone.

The floor plan is great for visitors as they have their own wing upstairs and down with two washrooms. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 2nd stay at Island Breeze, and again, everything was wonderful. We got to Jekyll earlier than expected, and the staff was on it with getting us right in. The home location is perfect, just a quick stroll to the beach, and a short bike ride to Horton Pond and Driftwood Beach. There are beautiful bike trails to get you to the Historic District or even back up to the Beach Village. We love sitting on the front porch at night and listening to the waves. The layout of the house is perfect for everyone to have their privacy and quiet. This home is very well organized, clean and up to date, and the Jekyll Realty staff was great to work with throughout the whole process. We highly recommend Island Breeze, and we will definitely be booking again in the future!

July 2018 Stay

We had 10 people stay in Island Breeze on Albright Ln. Four couples and two teens. This was one of the best homes we have ever rented. It was so well stocked and even had some essentials already there. So many times you rent a house and there isn't even a salt and pepper shaker! Here we could cook in and there were seasonings and equipment galore and it was all well organized and labeled so you could find it. There were beach chairs and bikes too! Please tell the owners this was a wonderful home and if we bring this group again I will definitely rent this home! The only drawback was the missing beach access stairway over the breaker rocks. We were all a little scuffed by the end of the week, but had a great time and would go back again!

Because it is winter months we have a variety of coats and a coat tree would be appreciated as well as necessary . Also bathtubs need to be replaced or refinished.

August 2017 Stay

Some issues with flys due to location of outside trash cans and there cleanliness. We also found parts of bugs on the mattress covers in the master bedroom and a large bug on the mattress covers of one of the other two bedrooms down stairs. The bug was dead. There was a famine napkin found stuck to a pillow on the bed. This was a great house and the issues were minor. No other bugs were seen all week. I moved the trash cans during our stay. I would rent this house again if I need a five bedroom .

August 2 week stay

I don't even know where to begin. we had a group of 14 that stayed on Jekyll the first week, a few stayed at a hotel down the road, but this home was perfect to accommodate our family dinners we had, steps from the beach. The 2 upstairs rooms have a partial ocean view! I hung 2 hammocks outside and was able to hear the waves at night, so relaxing. Everyone agreed, this place made you feel right at home, it had the space and privacy we needed with family ages ranging from 4 to 80. They've got all the cabinets in the kitchen labeled, which was super convenient! Such beautiful decor and an amazing location, beach access is practically a stones throw away, a 1-2 minute walk! They had extra bikes to use, and beach toys & chairs, books to read, there was something for everyone. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect accommodation for our family. We will return to this cottage for every trip to Jekyll!
