Banyandah - Luxury Architect Designed Straddie Beachhouse

This beautiful home was designed by well known architect Paul Butterworth and built in August 2014. It came in at number 24 in the Courier Mail best Homes in Qld and it is easy to see why.

It is multi-level with four queen size beds, three bathrooms and impressive ocean views from every angle of the house. The neutral colours of white, grey and timber suit the home perfectly and draw in the surrounding blue ocean and greenery. The windows are tinted throughout the house and each one is positioned perfectly to capture the views and natural light.

Ground floor has two bedrooms, a kitchenette, lounge and large undercover deck. The bathroom on this level has a free standing bathtub and a separate toilet. There is a double length garage that runs the length of the house.

On the first floor you will find the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen that once again take in the views out to the Coral Sea. The covered deck becomes part of the living space and kitchen when opened and is the perfect entertainer. There are a further two bedrooms including the master and en-suite with another free standing bathtub.

This home has all of the modern luxuries you would expect including air conditioning throughout, security screens throughout and all modern fixtures, fittings and appliances.

Banyandah is a beautiful property with plenty of space and beautiful views. The house is very well equipped and has basically everything you could need. We were unlucky in that we had two water pipes dripping in our bedroom for the entire 3 night stay which severely disrupted our sleep. The managing agents were lovely but were unable to get anyone to fix it over the weekend. The property was not very clean when we checked in eg mould and dust through cupboards, droppings throughout the house, spider webs and insects in the showers. Again, the agent was helpful and offered to arrange a cleaner to come over but we were very disappointed that a property at this price point wouldn’t have been clean on arrival. The property was high quality and you could tell it was architecturally designed. The only part we found a bit odd was that there is a section of the property (in between the two upstairs bedrooms) that is open to outside. The rest of the property has screens but this section meant anything could come inside (and it did). The rain also came in so as much as the fresh air was lovely, it was very impractical. All in all a lovely stay and we thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful location and stunning views.

Our stay was perfect at Banyanda. The house was perfect, weather was perfect and the company was perfect. Memories were made. The house was very spacious with plenty of quiet time able to be had if needed. I do suggest taking a car over on the ferry as to have such wonderful views means being on top of a hill.

Only has king beds. No Foxtel Washing machine was not working. Agent is hopeless. Didn’t get back to me about clothes I left in the robe.

Beautiful property. The vista is amazing, literally 180degrees of the ocean. Very spacious, huge area downstairs with another lounge 2 beds etc. Very well appointed ,needs a hairdryer though please! Would definitely return again if back on the Island. Sorry to leave!
