"​We had a great experience at Budget Host Inn. The room was exceptionally clean, which we truly appreciated. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit, which was perfect for traveling with our 15-month-old. It provided much-needed extra space for naps and early bedtimes. ​The location is ideal, being close to downtown and within walking distance of Shepler's Ferry. This made getting to Mackinac Island super convenient. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We'd definitely stay here again!"

"The property is dated but has updated restrooms. Reasonably priced - breakfast options were bagels, bagels, waffles, muffins, oatmeal and cereal during our stay. Easy walk to shepplers ferry There is an Arnold ferry option available further down (we did not use but wanted to share all options) B.C. Pizza very close and very budget friendly for our family of 4 Be sure to leave used towels outside of your room so they will provide fresh towels. Overall, worth a try if you are looking for...

"Our room was in great condition and clean. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast…ok. The room was extremely small and hard to get around with so many people. We did not use the pool, but our friends did and it was super cloudy, which looked gross, but could have been from an over abundance of chemicals? Either way, cleanliness is always my top concern and this place was just that, so I would definitely stay here again. "

"Arrived about 5 hours early before check-in. Even with the craziness of the holiday weekend, they were able to get me checked in 3 hours earlier than anticipated. Room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Hotel was located close to downtown St. Ignace, and had quick access to the bridge. Which allowed us to beat a lot of the traffic going back south. Breakfast was great, service was great, we will definitely be back!"

"This motel probably could use some updating however it was quiet, centrally located to downtown and ferry docks and day trips to Drummond Island, Whitefish Point, Tahquamenen Falls. The couple who operate it are very friendly, accommodating and professional. A nice change from the major hotel chains. Room was roomy. The fridge was small but worked which was a plus for us. Would stay there again."

"We enjoyed the lake side beach and view. We bought tickets to Mackinac Island through Sheplers and the shuttle service to the boat and back to Breakers was appreciated. Very clean and comfortable rooms."

"My husband and I stayed at Breakers for 2 nights…a great choice! Our ground-level room was a direct walk to the beach only a few yards away. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The restaurants were delicious, especially the outdoor pizza oven and bar. This is a well renovated older hotel with great amenities. The biggest selling point is that beautiful beachfront. I am already planning my next visit!"

"The only problem is the location of the property. Don't get me wrong.. You was outstanding and fabulous. The time it takes to get anywhere is 40minutes to an hour. If we were bikers and they had electric bikes then it's perfect. PLAN well ahead to go to dinner, shop in town or do anything outside of the resort. This place was truly special but the moving around quickly was the only issue. I would recommend and also I would stay here again and again. "
