"Although the hotel is looking "tired", e.g. light fittings hanging off in the bathroom, I felt safe. Just wanted somewhere to sleep for 1 night, therefore ideal"

As for the actual hotel, it is stunning and we can’t wait to go back. We upgraded to the junior suite and it was worth the extra. Couldn’t recommend Dakota enough."

"We have just had a wonderful stay here as my other half was doing the Great North Run. The staff were so helpful polite and attentive. The room was excellent spacious .really comfy beds full bathroom and had everything we needed as well as very quiet. So now comes the restaurant........ wow just wow the food was top notch all freshly cooked and some of the best Italian we have ever had. Portion sizes are not for the faint hearted ie great for a pre run carb load tea for my partner but so...

"We stayed for just one night visiting our son at Uni. The apartment was superb. Perfect as a comfortable base for going out and about. Despite the traffic in the area it was quiet. Bed was comfy so a good night’s sleep. Communication from the owner was excellent. Will definitely return. "

We booked dinner and the steak pie was exceptional and the service was good. Breakfast was also very good and it was lovely to sit in the pretty conservatory. "I really liked this hotel. Conveniently located near train station but quiet. My only concern was that the restaurant is very limited in its offerings (primarily chicken). I was glad to see a broader range of options for breakfast, at least. Overall a nice hotel but I wouldn’t count on the restaurant for dinner. "
