Just a short drive from St Louis to Bourbon Missouri and you can get away from it all. Located on 40 acres you can enjoy a peaceful property overlooking open meadows, running creek, wildlife and your own spring fed lake. Blue Springs Ranch is close by where you can swim, canoe, horseback ride and enjoy other activities. In Bourbon you will find a coffee shop, restaurants , health food store, bicycle shop, grocery store, and ice-cream parlor and other small town stores. The chateau has a large covered porch where you can view wildlife, watch geese sit on the porch swing or hang out around the fire pit on a cool evening. Take a hike, feed the fish or just relax. A perfect get away, to GetAway.

Amazing!! This place really is a Hidden Gem. We rented it for a Father’s Day float and it was absolutely perfect!! The house itself was beautifully decorated with anything you could need or want! The host left fresh spring water in the fridge for us and delicious muffins. The porch, the view…so beautiful and peaceful, overlooking a fishing pond where you can feed the fish or catch and release. We saw deer and turkey. I really didn’t want to leave the porch swing. We were less than 2 miles from Blue Springs Ranch where we floated. Beds are comfy. Upstairs had a split unit to keep the upstairs bedroom heated or cooled. Everything was absolutely perfect…10/10 recommend!!!

Fantastic Getaway

A beautiful property with gorgeous views. The fishing was great and the lake has a large deck for easy fishing. House was very nicely decorated and outside porches were comfortable. Loved the swing and the fireplace- we had a wonderful relaxing time. Will definitely be back!

Another New Year!

The Chateau is exactly what you see in the pictures & more. This is the 2nd time I've rung in the new year here. Daily hikes in the woods, walks around the pond and visits to various antique stores are my happy places! Would do this every year if I could

Hideaway Haven!

Wonderful property to get away & relax. The pictures don’t do it justice. Boundless amenities-very clean-and decorated like it should be in a magazine! The hosts thought of everything from the inside out ! Swing on back porch overlooking the lake was brilliant! So comfortable & Cozy. We will be booking again ! Awesome place!

The whole property was wonderful and immaculatly cared for! Beds were very comfy and clean and the kitchen was great for cooking. We loved the large open field and pond and outdoor space. If we could add one thing, it would be to have a circular outdoor fire pit somewhere as the beautiful outdoor stone fireplace was slightly difficult to huddle around in the colder weather. Overall everyone loved the place and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic Rental

We stayed at the Chateau for a fall weekend. It was beautiful inside and out. Too many amenities to mention. Communication with Christie was great. Beds were comfy. Attention to detail makes this home a wonderful place to visit.

The Perfect Getaway!

My husband and I stayed here in October. The property is gorgeous!! We fell in love with the natural beauty of the land and pond. The house looks even better than the photos. The hosts put a lot of time and energy into all the little details. 10/10 would recommend. We could not have asked for a better place to get away!

Perfect weekend getaway

I was searching for a place for an anniversary weekend away and happened across this little gem. The photos accurately portrayed the property. The host was responsive and helpful in answering my questions. We spent the weekend in perfect solitude..just the 2 of us. It was so relaxing. I almost hate to say how great it is cause i don't wanna share! We have definitely found our "regular" getaway destination. P.s. incase you haven't read my note in the guestbook, the shelf with the mugs hanging below is not level. It looks like it could fall any minute. We used the mugs in cabinet because I was afraid to touch the hanging mugs.

Beautiful home

We really enjoyed our stay catching up with our friends that now live several states away. The house was clean, welcoming and comfortable which was perfect for us to relax and talk with our friends. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend staying at this house if you are looking for a quiet, secluded place that is still close to stores, restaurants and other things to do. The outdoor amenities were an excellent option for socializing and taking in the view and wildlife. Very happy with our stay and are heading home refreshed.

Dreaming of our return

The pictures of this home do not do it justice...it is much, much better, and it far exceeded our expectations! These were some of our favorite things: * Sitting on the porch looking out at the pond. * Reading a book and drinking coffee on the cozy swing. * Building a fire in the outdoor fireplace and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows while looking up at the stars. * Walking down to the pond and watching the fish and turtles; we appreciated the bucket of fish food provided by the hosts. * The large walk-in shower with the amazing shower heads, one being a hand-held option. * The gas fireplace inside was very relaxing. * The jug of natural spring water in the refrigerator was refreshing. If we have to list something that could be improved... * We could not find any tissues * We could not get the fire pit table to light. There are so many more things that we enjoyed about this property, and we fully intend on booking it again! Also - thank you for the delicious muffins!

Fantastic place! They have a very unique and cozy house with a great outdoor entertaining area. The hosts went the extra mile and provided nice coffee, snacks, and even welcome pastries from a local bakery.

The Hidden Gem

This was the third consecutive year our group of friends stayed at the property for our annual trip. This place is aptly named The Hidden Gem! We enjoy this location so much every year. Very quiet area with tremendous amenities. The owners are terrific and very responsive. Another great stay!

Amazing time at an amazing place

I hate writing this review because I really don't want anyone finding out what a wonderful Hidden Gem this place is. Now the secret will be out. Our host, Christie, brought us awesome muffins in the morning. House was clean and fully stock. The first time when renting a house we only needed to bring our selves and our food along. Thanks for a great stay Christie.

Truly a hidden gem!

We love every minute of our stays here. It’s beautiful to look at inside and out, and is such a relaxing environment. This trip I traveled alone with 3 kids and most importantly felt safe, but I also appreciate that the hosts allow you to feel like you’re on vacation. Some vacation rentals are sparsely stocked, have complicated check-in processes, are hard to contact, or have a long list of check out processes, but not here. I was able to relax, unwind and have a stress free experience from start to finish.

Excellent Place!

Went down with some friends to float the Meramec. The pictures don't do this house justice. All the furniture & beds were cozy and comfortable. All the electronics & appliances were easy to use. Host gave clear information throughout the process & provided more amenities than I've ever seen at an vacation rental property Will definitely check to see if this property is available next time we're in the area.

Perfect!!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Hidden Gem for five fantastic days. Absolutely what we needed and more! This wonderful place had everything we wanted. Christie and Tracey have taken care of everything you may need. The house is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. The location is secluded and peaceful and the porch is so relaxing and inviting. We sat on the swing and just relaxed and watched nature. Deer, turkeys and even a lone deer visited us. The pond was a great place to visit and fish a little. Great location if you are wanting to visit/swim/float the Meramac River. My wife and I kayaked it during our stay. Great time and beautiful scenery. Everything that you need is there at the house. And great touches such as the coffee bar and the muffins that Christie offers that first day are fantastic. A really welcomed treat. No problems or worries at all here at the Hidden Gem. Christie and Tracey were always available and willing to help in any way. We will absolutely be returning!!!!

Amazing Location and Beautiful House

We absolutely loved staying here!! The location was so amazing. We could sit on the porch for hours taking in the view. We loved swinging on the porch swing, playing games, having a fire while taking in the scenery. The house was decorated beautifully and fully equipped with all the little things that make it so convenient. This was the best rental house we have stayed at. So clean and cozy. We can’t wait to come back!!.

The perfect getaway

My family and I booked this property as a home base to float locally and it far exceeded our expectations. The home is perfect in every way. The attention to every little detail made our stay effortless as well. The outdoor swing, and multiple fireplace options were where we spent our time most. The huge yard area was perfect for playing catch, wiffleball, frisbee, or just hunting for lightning bugs. The pond onsite is such a relaxing view and our children had such a great time feeding the fish. We really made some great family memories and i am thankful to have been able to spend pur time here. The hosts are top notch m, incredibly responsive to questions and overall thoughtful. We are already planning next years stay!

Magical!

We just love this property and its owners! The chateau is a hidden gem indeed. The home and land it sits on is beyond perfect…. It is hard to leave! We found ourselves enjoying the covered patio throughout the day and night during sunshine and thunderstorms… listening to and observing nature at its finest. Oh and the fireflies glistening in the tree line at night is just magical! We can’t say enough good things about this home, Christie & Tracey, and the friendly town of Bourbon. Thank you for such wonderful hospitality!
