"After a seven hour drive from Skye in wet and stormy conditions, it was wonderful to arrive at Lanehead Old School where Lisa had lit the log burner in the large and comfortable hall and made me feel immediately at ease. Only minor issue, the windows only have blinds, these do not effectively block out the light so awake quite early.

"We need to stay near Bishop Aukland and this came up on Hotels.com. The locals we were meeting knew of it and said it was good and it really was. Lovely pub. Very friendly. Great service. Awesome food. Very accommodating as we turned up a bit late but they still did food for us. Would recommend and stay again. "

"Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them.
On the hole, everything else was excellent.
There was no recycling facilities, which was quite a surprise, and also a slight disappointment. Everything else was above...

The Manor offers fantastic accommodation and a truly wonderful experience with young dear in the garden in the early morning and three peacocks roaming around! We will be back. Thank you."
