This place is sketchy. We were looking for an affordable hotel just for the night to check out UAB medical center for a potential job the next day. We checked in at the front and as soon as we got our key, I immediately regretted it. the other guests at this hotel were men angrily shouting profanities and slamming doors. We were afraid. There were also many men loitering in their trucks smoking, watching where we would go in (since all the doors are external, everyone can see which room is yours). I was fooled by the 8.0 rating on Expedia and should have looked deeper. I had a very unsettling feeling being at this hotel, especially as a pregnant woman. We didn’t even enter our room, as I felt uncomfortable staying here, trying to refund our room, I had only booked it like thirty minutes prior. The front desk was clueless and made us just check out without any consideration or our concerns. Expedia has been trying to get a hold of the front desk multiple times to process our request but… they do not answer.
