  • Cuthbert Cottage offers a relaxed and welcoming base for a couple or small family, ideally placed for exploring Northumberland’s coast and countryside. Set just off the A1, it’s perfectly positioned for day trips to many of the region’s best-loved destinations. Just a few miles away, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a magical place to discover — only accessible at low tide, with sweeping beaches, ancient priory ruins, and inviting spots to stop for coffee or lunch. Goswick Beach is also nearby, offering a wide stretch of golden sand and a links golf course with stunning sea views. In Berwick-upon-Tweed, you’ll find riverside walks, independent shops and galleries, and impressive Elizabethan walls. Bamburgh boasts a dramatic coastal backdrop with its iconic castle and expansive beach, while boat trips from Seahouses offer the chance to spot puffins, seals and even dolphins around the Farne Islands.


    Step through the front door into a bright, well-equipped kitchen — perfect for everything from laid-back breakfasts to relaxed evening meals. A few steps lead up to the cosy lounge and dining area, where a wood burner, Smart TV and dining table provide a comfortable space to unwind, play games or enjoy a quiet meal together. Just off the kitchen is a ground-floor shower room. Upstairs, the light-filled mezzanine-style bedroom is thoughtfully furnished with a double bed and an additional single — ideal for a child or extra guest.


    Outside, the cottage has a generous enclosed patio with garden furniture — perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks. You’ll also have access to a shared, landscaped garden where the owners are creating a series of peaceful areas, from wildflower planting and orchard paths to a herb patch, seating nooks and a fire pit. A private laundry room with washing machine is provided, along with access to a shared, well-equipped mudroom with a hot shower — ideal for rinsing sandy dogs or beach gear. Secure bike storage and a shared EV charging point are also available.


    Please note that occasional traffic noise may be heard due to the nearby A1, though it’s generally minimal once you’re settled in. For larger groups, three other bookable properties are available on site.
