"I stayed for a couple of nights at the brilliant Troutbeck Inn during a brief trip south. A first time visit to a welcoming inn which now feels like a home from home, and I very much look forward to returning with a bit more time in hand."

"The supposedly family friendly room was on top of the bar and facing the main road. The extra bed was not made up at arrival and it was left for us to do. The extra bed collapsed during the night. Breakfast was hideous. Tugged in a small claustrophobic bacon smelly room with not enough space to slide your chair away from the table bitter coffee was served. The waitress never came around with anything else and by that time we had enough and left."
