Escape to Ember Cottage, a cozy mountain retreat tucked away in the Riverwood community of Baring. Perfect for couples or a small family, this private cottage features a king bed, full bathroom, kitchenette, wood-burning stove, and your own hot tub and patio. Enjoy peaceful mornings with mountain views, relax by the fire, or explore nearby hiking trails, Stevens Pass, and the community river access just a 3-minute walk away.

Our studio cottage was updated with new flooring, paint, and new furniture in January 2025.

This property features two separate, private cabins. If you’re traveling with a larger group, you can book both cabins together to accommodate more guests. Please inquire about Ember + Fern cabins.

Whether you're looking for scenic hikes or mountain views, you'll find plenty to explore nearby:

Barclay Lake Trail – A beautiful 7-mile round-trip hike leading to a stunning alpine lake that's perfect for swimming in the summer. The trailhead is about 20 minutes northeast of Baring.

Bridal Veil Falls & Lake Serene – Just a short drive west on Highway 2, this popular hike features a picturesque waterfall and a refreshing swimming hole near the trailhead.

Heybrook Lookout – A short but steep hike rewarding you with panoramic 360° views from the historic fire lookout tower.

The guest cottage shares an outdoor breezeway with the main cabin. There are no shared walls, and the cottage has its own separate patio and hot tub for taking in the mountain views and fresh river air.

Parking: Enter from 643rd Ave NE and park on the gravel driveway. DO NOT DRIVE ON THE LAWN.


-Self check-in is available using a Schlage smart lock.

-Exterior Ring security cameras monitor the outside of the property for guest safety.

-The cottage is located on the same property as another vacation rental, but each has its own entrance, patio, hot tub, and designated
parking for privacy.

-The community observes quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please be respectful of neighbors and no parties are permitted.

-Community river access is just a 3-minute walk from the cottage.

-During winter weather, AWD/4WD or chains may occasionally be needed.

-Trash should be placed in the designated A-frame shed and kept securely covered, as wildlife is common in the area.

-Mini Pickleball Court
Enjoy our mini pickleball court! Please note that the court is shorter than a standard regulation-size court and is designed for casual play and fun.
We provide 4 paddles and 4 pickleballs in each cabin. The court is a shared, first-come, first-served amenity, so please be mindful of guests staying in the other unit.
Court hours: 10:00 AM–9:00 PM. Please keep noise to a reasonable level while playing.
