Very clean and spacious apartment.
Communication with the company that managed it (SH Barcelona) was problematic. To start, I had already paid for the stay prior to arrival, but never was sent a receipt. They insisted that I show proof, so I showed my credit card statement which they were reluctant to accept and tried to ask me to pay twice (which I refused to do). After about 45 minutes of standing outside deliberating over the payment, they agreed to let us in and said they would verify my payment the following day during work hours.
The second night of my stay, we got locked out of the apartment, which is completely my own fault. However, SH Barcelona has nobody available with an extra key after work hours to let you in. We had to work with locksmiths and were locked out for about 4 hours during the night. Our first locksmith was unable to open it after attempting for 2 hours as it seemed he didn’t have the necessary tools. He then called a second locksmith who fortunately had a different set of tools to open it, of course costing us 300 euro. (SH Barcelona was telling us that we would need to have the locksmith break the door down if he couldn’t open it, which to fix would have costed an exorbitant amount of money).
Again, I understand that this was our own fault locking ourselves out, but it would have been a much different evening if we had someone to contact at SH Barcelona who had a spare key after work hours, as this issue could easily happen to anyone.
