I wouldn’t say the breakfasts were as magnificent as some people have implied, it’s a pretty limited menu and if you go off the menu, things aren’t always great, but the coffee machine was fabulous."

"The staff were excellent always helpful and willing to help too, food was well above the standard of other Hotels, and the rooms were well kept and cosy. We were so impressed with the Hotel we've booked to stay again in September.. the only negative was that there was no lift, which made things slightly difficult for us but manageable Thank you to everyone who made our stay so pleasant . "Lovely stay at this hotel. Stayed for a couple of nights for a quick visit to the island for the first time. Location is brilliant...on the seafront and we paid extra for sea view...well worth it. The rrom was large and well positioned...and very clean and comfy. The breakfast was as expected with lots on offer and very well stocked. The only annoyance is the parking outside...yes its free but only for 16hrs max in one spot then you have to move to another spot (even if its next along) to reset...

"The room was on the top floor and was reasonable spacious and clean. There is a lift but it is small and only takes 4 people. The breakfast was standard but service was quite prompt in the morning. The island authorities were digging up the road outside the Hotel in order to create a new Tram system along the front at Douglas. "The guest house was in a good location just off the promenade. Room was spotless and in very good condition. Bed was very comfortable and made daily. Room was well appointed. Breakfast each morning was high quality and everything was freshly made. Dora the proprietor was very attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble if needed some assistance. I would definitely stay there again if in Douglas and would recommend to family and friends. "

"The host couldn't have done more for us. The Melrose is convenient for the shops although there was a short uphill walk to get back. The room although compact was clean, the bedding was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good, cereal, orange juice, Tea or coffee and a full english and there was also the offer of Manx kippers if you wanted them.. There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms but that is typical of the B&Bs in Douglas. If I have one slight criticism it's that...
