I stayed three nights at this hotel, and I thought that it was okay. I don’t know if I would stay again. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. The bathroom was really the highlight with luxury finishings and lots of space. The room was spotlessly clean, and was refreshed each day while I was out. Check-in was easy, if a bit brief.
I visited in July, and though the weather was mild, the room was very stuffy and warm. They had put a fan on the bedside table, and that did make sleeping a bit more tolerable. I often had to keep the windows open throughout the day to cool the room down, but that invited in a lot of flies. I will never understand luxury hotels that don’t have air conditioning but then also don’t have screens. I don’t want to be swatting away bugs all night. My window faced the back street and it was very loud with the windows open. With people talking at the bar, the morning trash pick-up, and the construction on the street, there was almost never a time it wasn’t loud. Also, the mattresses badly need an update. It felt like sleeping on a pile of bricks.
I had imagined that I would be able to use the hotels lovely terrace to work on my laptop and sit out by the stream, but the outdoor seating was all for the restaurant/cafe.
The hotel is in a great location, but I just think it needed some work to be a wholly comfortable stay.
