  • Hank you to my fellow Trover's for posting this site; I may not have known about it otherwise! This hilltop tower affords visitors an astounding view from its top (a 125 foot comb up a spiral staircase) and an historical overview of the discovery and settlement of the Columbia River area. Well worth the climb and $5 parking fee!

Very easy booking and check-in process. The property has lovely views across the Columbia River and is ideally located to downtown Astoria and a large number of restaurants.

Fantastic place to stay. Very clean and had everything we needed. The view here is pretty amazing and the location was awesome. Walking distance to pretty much everything in dowtown Astoria.The hosts left us a very nice welcome basket, I think it was for my wife's birthday.The TVs weren't super intuitive, but we really weren't there for TV ;).Great place to stay, would definitely stay again.

The Wheelhouse is a beautifully designed and decorated property on the Columbia River. Everything is new, practical and comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the town as the trolley passed just behind us. The Bar Pilot boats and large container ships passed directly in front of our unit. There is a bakery directly below the unit, so convenient. We were a couple traveling with our niece and her adult daughter. The bathrooms were well designed for the four of us; 1 shower room and 2 powder rooms. A very efficient use of space. I deducted one star for location because if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you. This unit is in a commercial area of Astoria, there is a lot of early morning activity. The unit is fairly well insulated, keeping the window shut helps with the noise. Other than that, the communication with the host, Karen, instructions for AC/fireplace/WiFi etc well explained and the unit charming.

We were in Astoria for a family wedding and this property was such an amazing experience! The location, decor, stunning views and comfort were all great. On Friday evening a group of family members had dinner across the street and afterwards we were able to relax and visit together at the rental. It worked out wonderfully. Karen was very good at responding to any questions we had. You won’t regret your decision to rent here. My family thinks I’m a rock star for finding it! Lol

Wonderful place with great views

This is an extra-special place on a pier on the Columbia River with views on three sides of container ships and other boat traffic, and of the trolley and river walk and bubbles from the bubble man on the fourth. The kind of place where you just want to relax and watch it all. Great central location with free assigned parking. Well-appointed with everything we needed. So peaceful but plenty to see and places to eat in close by. Try Astoria Brewing right across the street. And check out shipreport.net for info on all the big ships passing by and a map with their real-time locations. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

Astoria’s Best Waterfront

My husband and another couple stayed here for Reach the Beach weekend. The view was absolutely amazing, it was conveniently located to shops and restaurants, and the place was adorable! We will definitely be staying here again!

Unbeatable location

The location is right in the middle of downtown on a pier, with two parking spots included. So many amazing restaurants and shops within a short walking distance. Another reviewer mentioned crowd noise at night due to the bar next door, but they close by midnight and the is very quiet.

Perfect waterfront stay

We stayed a couple of nights around NYE. It was the perfect location and the place itself is so comfortable and cute. Had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here next time in Astoria. Until next time...

Amazing View

We loved this property! The view was absolutely amazing- we felt so cozy snuggled up by the fireplace while we watched the ships out the window. Very clean property and couldn't be in a better location - just steps to so many restaurants and shops. The host was so kind and helpful, and check in/out was a breeze. Also loved that it had reserved parking. We are in love with this property!

Spectacular stay!

Love this location and the noise really isn’t a problem! The house has the best view ever and is sparkling clean. Had great nights on the balcony watching the sights, feeling the breezes and drinking wine!

Would return without hesitation!

My husband and I spent a few days visiting Astoria. A great small city on the Columbia River, with a lot of history and good museums. The Wheelhouse is a beautiful, clean place to stay. The location allows you to easily walk around Astoria as well as quickly get on main roads. A reserved parking spot adds to the ease of staying here. Karen is a great host - very prompt to answer questions and ready to do whatever would help your stay be more comfortable.

Great space in great location
