The home was clean and cute, but not without some minor problems. For example, most of the chairs were pretty uncomfortable, there was no lamp in one of the bedrooms, and there were only two coffee mugs that we could find. The real problem was the fact that the host gave no guidance at all regarding her expectations for cleaning. For example, she claimed we left coffee stains on the butcher block countertop (which covered an entire island that included the sink). This surprised us because we were barely at the house and did nothing out of the ordinary or inappropriate. If the countertop is difficult to keep clean, then it’s unhandy for guest use, and there should be a note of warning on it so people know to avoid it or treat it with kid gloves. We would have been more than happy to meet her expectations had she stated them. Please be sure to ask her exactly what she wants you to do if you stay here. Otherwise, you'll pay a very unexpected and expensive fee for normal wear and tear. Still, the house met our basic needs, was centrally located, and was (mostly) comfortable.
