"We had a fantastic stay at The Old Rectory. Our room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was the most comfortable we had in a 3 week tour of the UK! The host, Dave was lovely. So helpful in recommending local sights, and made a wonderful breakfast and coffee in the morning. The location was fantastic as well, Easy to walk to the High Street, beautiful bridge and walking trails, Annan museum, and restaurants etc. Thank you!"

"very helpful staff , good prices."

"The rooms are starting to look a bit worn down. But it's still the best I have found in the area."

"You get such a warm welcome from the owner, she makes you feel so at home straight away. The rooms we had were so clean and ideal for our stay. The rooms were warm and so quiet. The breakfast was so nicely cooked and tasty. This is a must stop if staying in this locality"

"The lady that we dealt with was very nice , she made my husband and myself very welcome. The room was clean but I have to say very tired , but it was a ok . The breakfast was fine . Can’t comment on shops as we went to a wedding so didn’t go far and the next morning we drove home."

"The property and staff were exceptional breakfast was amazing"

"Our stay was absolutely amazing! The spacious, clean, and refurbished room with a super comfortable bed was just what we needed. The full English breakfast had generous portions, and every meal was delicious. The staff were excellent, chatty, welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic! We loved every minute and can't wait to stay again. Highly recommended! 🤩✨"

"The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly...

"Paul and Alison were great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Paul even picked us up from the train station as we couldn't get a cab. Food was hot and great portions. Would definitely recommend, great value for money 🙂"

"Vi mangler at hotellet opfordrer gæster til at tage stilling til eks vis hvor ofte man vil ha skiftet håndklæder, det gør man de fleste steder Rengøring ku trænge til et lille løft, det gjaldt dog ikke vores rum "

"My friends and I stayed overnight during our road trip. We chose the hotel because it was along our route and had ample parking available. We were expecting a comfortable stay, good hospitality, quiet surroundings, easy parking… and that is EXACTLY what we got. Zero complaints and would happily book again if in the area."

"Property is lovely, a real home from home and the hosts have thought of everything you might need. Pet friendly. Local pub nearby and lots of lovely walks. Very friendly locals."
