"Room was a good size, upgraded from what we booked which was a nice surprise, we arrived early and checked if the room was ready which it was so again this was a bonus! No staff on site that we saw but didn’t really need anyone, free to come and go as we pleased and the property felt secure and safe we even left the patio doors open to allow fresh air in, perfect location. Quiet spot in walking distance of Ambleside pubs would definitely return. "

"Nice modern accommodation and good size rooms that have recently been renovated.
It is like self service and not a hotel which is fine if that is what you are after.
No water in room for example and no one on reception while I was on site or breakfast.
This was not a problem for me but maybe for others.
When I called the mobile number for service they were very good and even brought me a bottle of water.

"Beautiful location with stunning views of Lake Windermere. The room and bathroom were pristine. The decor was in the arts and crafts style. Restaurant food was very good and there was an excellent choice of fruit and cereals for breakfast along with superbly cooked and flavoursome items. Staff were kind and courteous and the overall service was excellent. Highly recommended. Will certainly come again next time we’re in the late district."

"Cosy central clean property. Minor niggles re duvet not being in a cover, television having a mind of its own, car parking awkward even for a medium sized car. Otherwise we loved it."

"Excellent property with high standard of finish and decoration. Very warm despite the cold weather outside.
The “Welcome Pack” was a great and welcome surprise which is a definite plus compared to other rentals in this area.
Master bedroom had a superb en suite plus a great view of Loughrigg Brow.
Everything was great and we can’t wait to return. "

"Great stay a woodbine cottage. It's a great location for all the shops and pubs, and some fabulous hiking from the door. Good sized accommodation for 4, but maybe tight for 6 as the bunk beds are very rickety and small, so maybe not advisable for small children."

"We had som issues with a front door that couldn’t open or -once opened- was very diffiicult to lock. We found the communication with the company very difficult and it took five days (out of a seven days stay) to get it sorted. Afterwards we were told there was nothing wrong with the door??"
