"The resort is beautiful and the casita was very well laid out. The only negative about the room was the couch and chairs were pretty uncomfortable. Also, be aware the casitas have several steps going between living room and kitchen; kitchen and bedroom, and then bedroom and bathroom, so be careful of tripping. Also, the web site does state it, but you have to look, during slow season the indoor restaurant is closed, so the only option is the pool bar or driving the golf cart to another...

"Portofino is a beautiful, quaint little resort. We have stayed in their small cabanas a number of times. They are rustic and simple. The resort grounds include a lovely salt water pool, a dock, a small reception area, a small outdoor bar with a beautiful patio under large sea grape trees as well as a restaurant above the reception area that overlooks the gorgeous sea and barrier reef. Overall, it is simply beautiful and relaxing. The frontline staff are phenomenal, truly great and caring...
"Very nice small hotel in secret beach. Staff are very attentive to guests needs and requests. The property is well kept, very nice sunset views over the water and nice small private beach. A peaceful retreat away from the noisy secret beach places. This is the lagoon side, not the reef, so the water is shallow and you are in a mangrove forest so be prepared to deal with mosquitoes, nothing a good spray can’t fix.
