Altefähr is a quiet little ferry town with a small harbour and a new sandy beach with a pirate playground. The connection to Stralsund is possible by ferry, bus and train. The island of Rügen offers a variety of excursion destinations such as the chalk cliffs, Cape Arkona, the island of Hiddensee, the Störtebecker Festival etc.
