"Very noisy throughout our stay. Doors banging , furniture moving around in units above , people speaking loudly made it difficult to fall asleep , running up and down the stairs. Unit was clean and spacious but the bed linen needs to be replaced..very old. Hats off to the staff member who checked our unit on departure...I left behind a few pieces of jewelry and she was honest enough to hand it over to me. Scenery excellent. "

"Belaires lejligheder er absolut af ældre datoer, men beliggenheden er rigtig god, og restauranten, tilknyttet hotellet, er virkelig et dejligt sted med rigtig god mad til forholdsvist lave priser. Der er cirka 15 min gang til bymidten, til gengæld ligger strandpromenaden lige nedenfor. Vi havde nogle ting, der ikke fungerede optimalt under opholdet (vi fik først værelser uden havudsigt, bagefter fik vi værelser med et larmende ventilationsanlæg og til sidst værelser, hvor køleskabet ikke...

"I love staying in old well-kept hotels. The Royal Hotel is a perfect example. I stayed on a high floor facing the harbor. Always something going on out there from a tiny lone sailboat to a whole sailboat race to a tugboat on mysterious course in the wee hours. "

"The hotel has an amazing vintage architecture. The building is amazing however it needs a some tlc. The reception ladies are great, they made me feel welcomed specially that it was my first time in Durban. The security guards was really good, very welcoming as well. I had a wonderful stay at the hotel with a nice sea view and it's very quiet, you get to relax.Just wish they could just could take case of the building outside, it really need some work. "
