Overall the property was very nice, and the spaces were clean the garden nice, and the staff very friendly. The problem was with the bathroom which had a horrible mold problem. As I've had to deal with mold in my own home, I know this isn't just a cleaning problem, but it needs to be dealt with on a deeper level. Unfortunately, the owner/manager decided to blame it all on the cleaner, even degrading her in front of me (horrible!) and not taking any responsibility himself. I tried to explain how he could deal with it, but he just kept insisting it was her fault, and how horrible it is to find good help, blah blah.
I asked the cleaner not to clean the bathroom (because now the owner was insisting it be done immediately) until I left, as when you clean mold with vinegar, it shoots out spoors that I did not want in my room. But he went over my head and had her clean when I was out for a walk. This was very uncool, as I specifically asked them not to.
At the end of the day, I used the external bathroom and shower which was fine (but had paid for an ensuite). I was not offered any compensation for any of this, just the discomfort of watching an owner disrespect his staff.
