England, når det er bedst. Hel igennem gæstfrie mennesker og området er historisk set meget interessant. Naturen er fantastisk.

Like travelling time
The hotel has the charm and style of its origin several hundred years back, but the service level and comfort of a modern hotel. A very nice experience.

Perfekt beliggenhed i smuk, lille by
Beliggenheden var dejlig. Woodstock er en typisk lille engelsk landsby med små gader, hyggelige små butikker og ikke mindst et spytkast fra Blenheim Palace. Området lægger også op til smukke løbeture og trafikken er begrænset. Hotellet var ok - men ikke prangende. Værelset var ok stort (Director's room), badeværelset fint, men sengene var ikke særligt gode. Opredningen til vores søn var mildest talt uanvendelig. En sovesofa var slået ud - men buede så meget nedad, at man ikke ville kunne sove på den. Servicen i baren var ikke særlig venlig og kan ikke anbefales som spisested. Den "rigtige" restaurant besøgte vi ikke, men der var hver aften fuldt hus, så den må være pænt eftertragtet. Morgenmaden var dyr på hotellet (18 £/voksen), så vi tog på café umiddelbart lige ved siden af hotellet og spiste til det halve. Hotel ok, men for dyr i forhold til hvad man fik.

Det var bare et ordentligt hotel, der var stille!
Når man vælger et ordentligt hotel, er det ofte for at få ro og behagelige forhold og det var der på Woodstock Bear Hotel.

Enjoyed the stay and was impressed that the property was over 700 years old. The ancient graveyard next store at the church backyard was very unique. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great,

Disappointing experience, overpriced, tired decor, slightly dirty and noisy if your room is next to the church. In its heyday I’m sure this hotel was spectacular, now it’s tired, needs a refresh and revamp. Rooms musty smelling, paint peeling, grubby bathroom, even coffee machine had black mould around its edges. Food expensive and warmed up. Staff were lazy and disengaged, spent most of time chatting in hallways. Don’t buy breakfast, it’s a real waste of money, £18 pounds for an awful dried up continental or an overcooked reheated English breakfast. Go to the Woodstock coffee shop around the corner, better coffee and quality food. Wouldn’t recommend, wouldn’t go back.

Terrible restaurant
I had dinner included with 30£ allowance. I ordered 2 beers and they charged 19£ which really overpriced! The breakfast was real disaster. You can order just English breakfast which is included. Anything else is for extra charge. So you have no choice. The staff was unprofessional and had problem to understand English.

Breakfast rates include freshly cooked full English breakfast, as well as a broad continental selection including toast, cereals and a variety of pastries and cakes. Breakfast supplement is only charged if you choose specialty dishes from the full menu, such as Eggs Benedict. This is typical of most hotels - we are sorry you found this to be disappointing. Absolutely luxurious stay! They thought of everything with no detail left unchecked including doggie treats, bowls, doggie bed and blanket as well as complimentary Nespresso coffee machine with coffee pods. The absolute best! And the bed? Best sleep ever!😌 Soft luxurious cotton and duvet upon duvet piled on top, felt like sleeping on clouds☺️ Room was warm, cosy, modern with a luxurious vintage theme, sparkling clean with all the expected amenities including smart TV. Large clean Bathroom room with lots of luxury towels and spa quality toiletries 🤩😍 I really could go on...I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this is BY FAR the absolute best and worth every single penny! Oh and the staff are so lovely 🤗 and accomodating to your needs. Perfect hotel and perfect stay! I can't bloody wait to go back there again 🙌

Cute hotel with friendly staff and spacious rooms
We needed to be in the area and found this hotel to be in the perfect location. It’s in a really quaint area with some nice looking shops, restaurants and cafes although we didn’t go in any. The staff were all very friendly and the room was spacious. They were really accommodating of my dog and it was nice quiet so he didn’t get spooked by noises. My only one little niggle was that there was no fridge, but the staff stored my dogs food. If I needed to be in the area again I’d stay here

Lovely festive stay - characterful and comfy
Stayed here to visit Blenheim Palace's Christmas events. The hotel was much more than just a place to stay - it was beautifully decorated for Christmas, characterful and comfortable. We enjoyed spending time chatting in the bar - roaring fire, comfy chairs etc - and the food was lovely. Very easy flat walk to Blenheim - we will visit again to do more of the Cotswolds.

Even though I stayed in a basic double room, the room was very clean, comfortable, quiet and totally darkness when closed the curtain!! I love this place.

Perfect way to end the day
After a visit to Blenheim Palace we stayed one night at this lovely hotel in Woodstock. Beautiful setting and wonderful service. Would definitely recommend.
