Its no longer a 5 star hotel. I'd give it 4 at best and you can tell it has struggled to stay afloat during Covid. I was billed more for booking through Expedia. $450 versus $313 through the hotel. If i paid $313 then I would be somewhat ok with the quality of the hotel but not completely. The hotel needs upgrading. They only offer a sauna room now, no steam room and the sauna needs to be completely redone. It's old. You didn't have proper soap to wash yourself in that sauna room. My card key to my room 37 didn't work on 6 occasions. I had to continue to ask for it to be renewed. The food at the restaurant has always been kinda blah and still is. There are only paper cups in the room. Paper-cups for everything. They offer 2 types of teas in the room, black and green. You'll have to ask for a water kettle and tea cups. I did 4 days into the stay. Only my last day tea cups I asked for were removed by staff and not replaced. When I was leaving this was annoying. I was asked if I could wait like 10-15 minutes for my luggage to be removed from the room because the front desk clerk, who is the only working at 8AM wanted to check other people out. Is she insane?! Im standing right there and I TOO need to check fully out and was there first. I told her no and should have never been asked the question. I've stayed there now 3 times and wont be back. I should have just stayed in Saint Paul de Vence. Lesson learned.
