It’s simple - find another hotel
Way below the standard you should expect. Hotel was really outdated and while staff was friendly, then everyday there was no towels at the pool (1/3 full) and the nice pool they show on pictures cost 70 euro per person per day - simply not ok. We left 5 days before and actually got our vacation broken by a hotel, which normally should assure higher standard. All good was pre made and frozen. Really disappointed by Intercontinental

Mould on the walls
Our room smelled sour and damp on arrival and there were black stains of mold on the walls. Changed room 2 times before we got a room without obvious harmful fungus on the walls. The ventilation in the bathrooms does not work, which probably makes the rooms very damp and contributes to the mould situation. The hotel is probably closer to 4 star than 5 star. Breakfast nice and reception staff nice.

Lovely five star hotel with lots to do around. Staff were polite and very helpful and would go out of their way to help. Lots of options at breakfast. Some of the restaurants/facilities were closed. Shower at the indoor pool is disappointing, needs attention and Air-conditioning unit was not working so the room was a bit warm. A fan was brought to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Right from check in to check out the staff were very friendly but efficient. We had Opal lounge and all the staff were very polite and accommodating with any requirements. The Paranga restaurant staff very very welcoming and service was excellent. We were not happy with the manager at Waterbiscuit restaurant, he was very arrogant.

This hotel is horrible. Dark little rooms, buried 7 floors below sunlight - that is the garden rooms here. Pool is tiny and inadequate, nestled next down to a skyscraper under construction, worker leering over your wife as she bathes. Smells of damp in the rooms. Staff are however nice and you make the best of it. Terrible music playing everywhere

Für Leute die Party machen wollen ist das ganz ok Aber ein Deposit zu verlangen für das Zimmer und es hat nicht mal eine Minibar obwohl das lt. Beschreibung da sein sollte finde ich daneben. Das Casino im eigenen Haus ist die Krönung unfreundlicher geht es nicht, noch nie ein Casino erlebt wo die Mitarbeiter dermassen unfreundlich waren Nie wieder dieses Casino und Hotel

Die Lage hat dann doch überrascht... Party Meile direkt ums Eck. Mit viel Krawall und betrunkenen Party-Leuten. Für Familien-Urlaub nicht zu empfehlen. Das 1. Zimmer war nicht ansprechend auch wenn es die gebuchte "Kategorie" war. Mitarbeiter waren bemüht dennoch konnten wir erst am 3. Tag in ein anderes Zimmer wechseln, was schon doll auf die Stimmung gedrückt hat. Das Frühstück war langweilig und jeden Tag das selbe. Geschmack war so la la. Die Zimmer waren ok, nicht wirklich sauer, aber auch nicht dreckig, Das Hotel und die Einrichtung stark in die Jahre gekommen. Die Mitarbeiter waren nett. Der "Hotel-Strand" in der Bucht ist laut und wird nonstop mit lauter Musik von der Bar beschallt. Für Malta reichen dann auch 5-7 Tag, mehr ist dann doch im Sommer zu anstrengend und immer das gleiche.

The hotel staff were very excellent and very attentive. Especially once they knew my son had a nut allergy. They proceeded to clearly mark the ingredients on the food counter and on occasion when we dined in , they prepared his food separately. There is a lot of construction in and around the hotel which makes it a bit noisy on occasion was the only downside.

L’hotel dalle foto sembra meraviglioso ma sia foto che descrizione traggono in inganno: l’hotel è enorme una costruzione imponente ma non è sulla spiaggia perché sebbene vicino bisogna uscire dalla struttura. Inoltre le foto che raffigurano la spiaggia non corrispondono neanche lontanamente alla realtà della spiaggia stessa. Abbiamo preso la mezza pensione pagando 35 euro a persona per mangiare sempre le stesse cose: menu con prodotti buoni e cucinati bene ma varietà inesistente. In un hotel a 5 stelle ti aspetti un servizio diverso. Non so se è perché abbiamo prenotato tramite Expedia ma ci è stata data una camera che puzzava di umido e di chiuso e nella quale l’aria condizionata non funzionava per cui al 4 giorno ho chiesto il cambio stanza che mi è stato accordato ma mi sarei aspettata almeno delle scuse o un omaggio per il disservizio e il disagio. Ringrazio Andrea della reception che si è prodigato ed è stato gentilissimo e professionale nell’assisterci anche al momento del check out quando ci hanno addebitato spese non dovute (anche questo inaccettabile per un hotel di questo livello) In generale non consiglierei questo hotel sia per la location che per i servizi che non sono all’altezza di un hotel a 5 stelle

Maintenance being carried out at 8:30am wasn’t the wake up call we had in mind. In addition to this the pool bar staff were very unorganised and didn’t seem to understand how to make the cocktails which are on the menu and were unable to correct the issue. The over all service was lacking from what you would expect from the 5star hotel and felt more holiday inn level of service. Having now been to the area I think I would consider a number of other hotels over this one.

The hotel itself is very nice, mostly clean, in good condition and with good facilities. However the immediate area is basically clubland. It’s noisy, dirty, and at night sometimes intimidating.
