Check-in seemed ok until we went to our room and found it only had one bed and not the two that I'd specifically reserved. My reservation clearly stated "2 queen beds and balcony," and we got no balcony and one King. I went back to the desk and he said "Your reservation through Expedia is for one standard room, and that's what I gave you." I said "No, my reservation was through Hotels.com and it clearly states 2 queen beds." Neither of us knew that Expedia and Hotels.com are merged nowadays, NBD... but when I reserve two beds that's what I expect to get. He "read into it" further, and said, "Oh, here it is, 'Due to construction, the second bed is the sofa bed.' It should be all made up for you, just pull it out." Does anyone equate a sofa bed with a real Queen bed? It was crap. Sofa bed was not made up so we waited for the maintenance guy to bring us sheets. IMHO we shouldn't be penalized for reserving thru Hotels.com, -OR- the hotel should have told us that they are under construction and therefore, cannot guarantee us the room we requested. We were clearly in a recently remodeled room, and the light switch for the sink lights didn't work, so they wouldn't turn off and there's no door. We had to sleep with the lights on all night. I don't plan to reserve rooms through Hotels.com NOR Expedia again, and I do not plan to return to this Best Western. The clerk could have tried to accommodate us but he showed no concern, did not apologize, did not try to make it up to me.
