Would highly recommend
We travelled as a family with tow young children. The accommodation was excellent, very modern, clean and got everything we needed. The location is ideal if you want peace and quiet, but close enough to the small village of Embsay and a short drive to Skipton. We will be back.

Superb!!!
From the moment we booked the owner (Ann) made sure we felt welcome. Ann couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating from recommending places to eat and things to do to making sure the house was ready for us. She even put up a Christmas tree and decorations. The home was exactly as described and everything was in good working order. Embsay is a lovely little village and the pubs make you feel very welcome and serve good food at good prices. Skipton is a short drive away and is a very pretty town with a nice array of shops etc. We took our dog with us so managed to walk around the village and surrounding area and the views are stunning. Would highly recommend but please don’t book Christmas just in case we are able to return!!!!

Wonderful and peaceful
Kirk Stables is a lovely modern renovation of an old stables in a beautiful setting. Property is as it shows in the photos. It's well supplied to get your stay started. Ann, the host was very responsive.

Family get-together
My family so enjoyed their stay at Kirk Stables. First off, Ann went above and beyond to help us get to the property without mishap, as, coming from the States, both driving on the left and the Yorkshire area were new to us. I am so happy we chose this location as the area is beautiful and the house has a breathtaking view. The picture does not do the house justice. The house was also well equipped and we were able to make some great meals for our British friends. We also enjoyed eating out at two local restaurants in the village. The only item we could have used is a drip coffee pot for fresh-brewed coffee. We would certainly come back to Kirk Stables if the opportunity presented.

Great modern home with everything necessary to have a peaceful holiday
A group of friends and I stayed at Anns place for a weekend and had a beautiful relaxing break. It has all the amenities necessary. The bedrooms are a great size and there is a lot of living space. The garden is definitely fit for purpose and the hot tub is a great addition. The communication was great, and they were extremely helpful with anything we needed. Many Thanks

40th Birthday Stay
A group of 8 of us stayed recently to celebrate a 40th birthday. The house was perfect for us, and had everything we needed for our stay. You could tell the hosts had taken time to think about everything you could need during your stay. The location is beautiful; it felt isolated but was a short drive to Skipton making it very convenient. Ann was a fabulous host and quickly responded to our questions and queries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Gorgeous house

Loved this place
Loved our stay. Gorgeous house in beautiful quiet location. Lots to do in the area. Owners were very responsive and helpful. Multi generational group with dogs - we all loved it. Hot tub was idyllic with fabulous views and dark starry nights. We would definitely go back.

Perfect Property
We stayed in this property as a group of six adults, three couples and had the best time. The house was so beautiful, clean and comfortable, really well stocked and the hot tub was an added bonus. The views of the surrounding countryside were stunning. Ann was the perfect hostess, communication was brilliant from start to finish and the welcome gift was very much appreciated. We will definitely return.

Amazing views from the hot tub
We had a lovely week at Kirk Stables-an extended family group with grandparents and a 9 and 11 year old. The location was great-the house was a ten min walk to the centre of the small village of Embsay (and a great pub) and a 50 min walk into Skipton which we did a few times as well. The hot tub makes the house-we spent every evening in it, with amazing views. The weather when we were there wasn't hot enough to sit outside most evenings, but it was definitely warm enough to sit in the hot tub. Excellent communication with the host throughout, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Perfect holiday home for a great family holiday
This holiday home was absolutely perfect for our family holiday and didn’t disappoint on the ‘wow factor’. The house itself was clean and well laid out for socialising, with a great amount of space and facilities. The outside area was a huge bonus. The hot tub was a luxury addition and the paddock was good for outdoor games! We visited loads of great places and the house is ideally located for some really nice days out (Steam train breakfast, Brimham Rocks, Bolton Abbey, Fountains Abbey, Wensleydale Creamery and lots more). Billy Bobs was a nice last day breakfast location too! The house was private and quiet with loads of parking for our 3 cars. The only downfall was we only stayed for one week and we would’ve loved another couple!!

Excellent Accommodation in a beautiful setting
A beautiful property done up to a very high standard. Has everything you would need. Lots of surrounding land, hot tub was brilliant- a nice luxury for the weekend! Ann was very patient with us and quick to respond to all our queries! Skipton was about a 40minute walk from this accommodation/ 5mins in the car. Lots of pubs/things to do and see in the surrounding areas and there is an especially lovely restaurant in Skipton called Alexanders which we made an advanced booking for. Planning to book again for next year! Thank you Ann for making our stay perfect x

Lovely stay in quiet location
We found the property an ideal base for the Yorkshire Dales, plenty of walking during our stay and the Hot Tub was a very welcome relaxation after a long day out on the hills. Signal was fine, we did not miss having no Wifi as it helped stop us looking on line so much and unwind more

Perfect house for a group getaway!
Kirk Stables was an amazing place to stay – a beautiful house with everything we needed, huge gardens that the kids and dog loved, and the whole thing was managed greatly by Ann – especially the extra cleaning during the ongoing pandemic. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, thank you!

We are a group of ladies all over the age of 40. We go away on our annual weekend away to chill and have fun. This year we stayed at the stables and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The rooms were large and very clean and had everything you need . The kitchen was utterly amazing in fact it had more in the kitchen than my house, I didn’t want to leave. The views out of every window were amazing. I have several communications and the owner and she was such a lovely lady I’m so helpful. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Wow! Fabulous house.
As a group of “girls” we have been going away together for 14 years and never have we stayed in a more fabulous property. Kirk Stables has everything. The kitchen is better equipped than my home! Would thoroughly recommend a stay here , the hot tub was ace (even in the rain)!

Excellent property in beautiful surroundings
Very well equipped, clean, no need to bring any washing/cleaning products, loo rolls, dog treats-all are supplied (even hot water bottles). The wet room was appreciated by my wife and there was plenty of room for a wheelchair in there. Had some rain but that didn't stop us enjoying the hot tub. When it was dry we went out onto the patio area, took in the fantastic views and watched the local heritage steam railway chug past in the distance. Had a few visits from the local cattle and rabbits. It was a long journey from Kent but well worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay in Eastby. We had a couple of problems that couldn’t have been foreseen, Ann dealt with these quickly and efficiently. These didn’t spoil our stay. Visits to Skipton Castle and the steam railway were a great hit with our 2 year old grandson. As was running around the large dining table! Ann provided everything need for a toddler of this age. Brogan provided wonderful food, if only we had less rain!!! The Watson’s Hutchings and Roebuck families

Fabulous hideaway
Great communication from the start and the property didn’t disappoint. We had a fab few days, we were lucky with the weather so wiled away a few hours on the terrace. A beautiful holiday home with every detail attended to and the dog enjoyed is complimentary treats as well, we gave it a good testing as a holiday rereat because we were a group of 7 spanning 4 generations from 6 years old to 93 and all thoroughly enjoyed themselves, I would highly recommend Kirk Stables to anyone wanting a peaceful break

A week with elderly parents
Ann kept in touch from the outset, letting me know when the house was ready. The house was everything we expected and suited our needs perfectly. Four gorgeous bedrooms, soft comfy beds and welcoming bedding. The house was well equipped and beautifully laid out. My only comment would be to change the sofas, not very comfortable and one was irritating as I have a wool allergy. I would recommend this house to everyone. Thanks Ann.

A Lovely Break in a Lovely Home - Highly Recommend Kirk Stables
Everything about the Kirk Stables is 5 star, I really can’t find anything negative to say about the place. We are regular travellers who go abroad two to three times every year. This year we decided to have a small staycation and I set about looking for accommodation that could fit the whole family of 8 adults and 2 dogs. After searching for a little while we found Kirk Stables and it just sounded like a nice place for us all to stay and was situated almost a couple of hours drive for everyone. Accommodation - Three double bedrooms and a fourth bedroom with twins beds. All bedrooms had lots of space with plenty of character. The two double bedrooms at the back of the property had doors leading out onto the decking area with lovely views of the hills across the valley. Two of the double bedrooms had on suite facilities and there was also a very large bathroom which included a large bath and walk in shower. Kitchen - Everything you would ever need is included even boiling water on tap. The fridge freezer is big enough for anything you bring with you and with the lovely welcome pack we received on arrival included a pint of milk which was handy for a cup of tea after our journey. There is also a wine chiller to keep your Prosecco chilled for your time on the decking and in the jacuzzi. BBQ - The BBQ is great and gas is supplied (the gas bottle ran out but was replaced in minutes after sending Ann a txt). Location - Situated just outside Skipton is just perfect for being able to visit a lot Yorkshire has to offer. Day1 - We spent the morning having a wonder around Skipton and having fish and chips at Bizzie Lizzies which were lovely. In the afternoon we took the 45 minute journey to Fountain Abbey and despite the rain we managed to have a pleasant time. Day2 - Today we tackled one of the three peaks on the Yorkshire Dales National Parks. We decided to climb Whernside as it was a little easier to climb than the other two peaks. The six that went all managed it and we all enjoyed ourselves and want to come back to tackle the other two. Day3 - The morning was spent wondering around the grounds of Bolton Abbey with the dogs followed by a great lunch at Billy Bobs Diner, food was great and can safely say that the ribs I had were the best ever. The afternoon was spent relaxing back at Kirk Stables before packing for our journeys home the following day. If you are looking for somewhere special look no further than Kirk Stables. A

Stunning Property 5*
We really enjoyed our stay at Kirkstables, the property really has the WOW factor. As a group of 8 ladies we were more than comfortable in the spacious communal area. The lodge has a lot of character and has been tastefully decorated. Ann made our trip extra special with the personal touches, a gift on arrival and she even took the time to hang banners for us ! Its like a home form home with all the mod cons, we wanted for nothing. We would all highly recommend this property.

Fabulous weekend
We had a fabulous family holiday at kirkstables! The property was beautiful and had everything you would need day to day living! The hot tub was lovely with a fabulous view. We can highly recommend visiting this place. We have had fabulous weather which has made our visit memorable. Ann the lady who owns the property couldn’t do enough for us! A lovely gift for the children is she left the children a Easter egg each which was so kind the children were over the moon! We definitely will be returning to kirkstables in the near future.

We had a fabulous time enjoying all the indoor and outdoor space - the children loved all the local activities and the men enjoyed the local pubs!! Stunning property with all mod cons and a fantastic view. With hot tub too!
Wonderful long weekend away. The barn is spacious and beautifully furnished with a great open plan layout which meant as a big group we could cook and talk and eat and relax all in the same space. Comfortable beds with en-suite and a huge family bathroom with a great deep bath. The extra touches of slippers and gowns for the hot tub made the whole weekend extra easy and enjoyable. Watching the sun go down from the hot tub on the deck was simply stunning. The sunrise from the lounge, equally so. The owner even considered everything for our grandson which was just lovely and ever so practical when travelling with a baby. Fully recommend short stay here and a long stay would have been even better.

Birthday break with friends
Stayed here with a group of my friends to celebrate my birthday, Alex and Ann were fantastic hosts, they were in contact with myself and my friends to have everything in place - balloons banners etc, for our arrival. The accommodation was warm and cosy and yet there was plenty of space for the 7 of us. The scenery was stunning, with beautiful views of snow capped hills while sitting in the hot tub with a glass of Prosecco. Lovely walk to the local pub and only a short distance from Skipton. All made for a perfect weekend away, can't recommend highly enough, thank you Ann and Alex

We booked this for a little family time and it was perfect for this, the lay out of the property with 4 bedrooms to the sides of a large communal living/dining/kitchen area meant we could all stay in the company and still prepare meals etc. The Stables had literally everything you could possibly need, it turned into a game trying to find something that wasn’t provided, needless to say you want for nothing. Communications with Ann were first class from the moment of booking and throughout our visit she was alway very quick to answer and was very proactive, we had a small issue with the kitchen drain blocking, and she had Alex en-route within 20 minutes, although he wasn’t needed because they also had a sink plunger ! The place itself was immaculate with great attention to detail, functional yet homely and super modern but with a rural twist, all the appliances were very high quality. We had our 7 month old twin grandchildren with us so Ann had cots, high chairs and toys ready for us, which meant we didn’t need to carry travel cots etc. The bedrooms are 2 rooms off each side of the main area, and the beds are soooo comfortable en-suite rooms on 2 of the rooms again very top quality, large overhead showers perfect after a long walk. If you dont get a room with en-suite dont worry the family bathroom is fabulous, free standing bath and wet room shower. The hot tub is a must, even in January, it was all ready for us to jump into, and a nice way to spend a night chilling with a beer and chatting. We didn’t feel the need to move far from the Stables but the surrounding area is lovely, we did go to Bolton Abbey where there are several nice walks along the river, Ann also suggested a nice walk, which we would have done if we could have dragged ourselves away from the hot tub and the free standing log burner in the middle of the room. My only complaint is i didn’t book to stay longer. And the family are already planning a summer visit, A long weekend for quality family time in beautiful surrounding and a fabulous place to stay.......Perfect, thank you so much Ann.

Oh Craig and family Thank you so much for the amazing comments . We built the house with the view for families just like your to share and relax together You’ll be glad to I won’t he plumber has seen to the sink now .. so hopefully no n more issues Ha ha I think it was great to have the ‘is there a ‘ game I have tried to think of everything and I as a parent of little Ones know it can be pain to be travelling woth lots of extra bits .. We would love to host you again . Beautiful house in lovely area.
Very spacious and modern house in the countryside. Everything you could need and more. The hot tub was just what we needed after a day in the countryside or town. Sipping a glass of champagne looking out to the view! Bliss. Owners were very helpful!
