What we did not like was the fact that we had spent an extra 24.00 per night for a room that as promised as HARBOR VIEW.. What a joke, what e had from our window was the road leading to and from the motel. We actually had to leave our room to see the harbor. Expedia did not help us on this stay.

The room was large and very clean. For a room with a kitchen, there were no eating utensils. The bathroom was nice except the toilet seemed to be very short to the the floor with no hand rails to help one get up.

Our fishing trip was canceled and I wasn’t notified until after the deadline to cancel my hotel reservations so now I’m stuck with a rain check (which will cost me more money due to the end of winter rates) I’ve stayed here before and it was a Great experience. This time Not.

The rain check is only given as a courtesy and is only done on a case by case basis.

Charming classic motel
First off, this is the place you’d stay for the charm, and location, may not have the best amenities… I personally like this place for what it offers, an older location with a real metal key instead of plastic. If you’re reading this, I hope you’ll get the information you need in your decision making. This was my second time staying here, previously in the summer and this time in the winter. Both times I was traveling solo, and got a simple room with one bed just for myself. They do have several different type of rooms that can suit your needs. In the summer it was nice walking from this place to Blue Box and other places to get food and such. And although there’s no a/c Winchester Bay in the summer was a nice 50s at night & a comfy 70s during the day. During my winter stay, I had to turn on the heater, and unfortunately the wall unit is more of a switch instead of a termostat. Bathroom and water worked perfectly both times with great pressure both cold and hot water. Bed was on the firmer side, may be too firm for some, but I kinda prefer it firm so it’s good for me. Internet (as stated clearly during check-in) only guaranteed in the lobby area. Of course being my 2nd visit I’m already aware of this. On my first stay, I was further away and got no connection at all. On my second stay, I stayed just a couple doors from the lobby and it was spotty. Walls are pretty thin especially if you’re staying in a room “connected” to another room.

Person checking me in friendly but didn't know what he was doing. Had to call someone for help. No cleaning done Advertise free breakfast but don't do breakfast in the winter. This was one main reason i stayed there. Very disappointing and will look somewhere else in April.

We scheduled a 1 bedroom unit, but the bedroom didn't have a door on it.... It had a doorway, but no door. So, I'm not sure of the purpose. We wanted a one bedroom so my husband could watch tv without me hearing it., or keep the light from shining in on me... but without a door, that didn't happen. ---- We booked it through Expedia, and I didn't pay attention, but the price was way too high for what we got. I thought I was paying close to $90/$100 per night, but when we paid, it was $150 per night. When I inquired at the desk, they said that because we booked it through an outside party, there wasn't anything they could do about the price. (So, that was completely on me... I should have paid closer attention) --- But it was definitely NOT worth $150/night. If you could get the room for $90-$100 I'd say you are getting a fair deal.

We noticed: the floor was uneven n sloped. 〰️ When we stayed the water had to b serviced n we didn't have water for a bit. 💧 The WiFi 🛜 I give it 1⭐ they give u a piece of paper n it says: WiFi works in common area but not in rooms. Continental bkft was to b 7-9a but on Sunday day of leaving had a note on office door won't b in till 10a 😕

This is not a fancy place this is a down home comfy place. The staff here are always willing to help. And it's within walking of the Bay, crabbing, shops, dining. My kids and I stay here every time we come in to town. And we try to come in to town once a month

For $131 and a "Harbor" view a view of the harbor was expected, considering this was an upgrade. There was no view of the harbor, and infact there was a better view of the harbor from the office. No AC, very small. Would bot recommend.

Exterior is in serious need of attention (rusty stairs, etc.). Room was nice. Bed was overly firm for me (like most all the hotels on my trip). Office clerk was nice enough, but didn't seem to know much about the small enclave she worked in. Overall, average.
