Challenging Review
From a price/value perspective this unit was 3 on a 5 scale I think what you see is what you get. When we booked with VRBO we paid the standard fare up front and we assumed they took from our cc the balance 30 days out. We had a standard check-in, with Sabrina meeting us and asking for just the city tax, not mentioning any other monies were due. On the last day of our rental we rented scooters, and when we arrived back the lock box containing the key had no key in it. I called our host Gaetano and he said he would come down. On arrival he said we hadn't made the final payment to VRBO. A surprise to me but I said I wouild check into it. I was taken back by this request but did not question his integrity, and simply stated I wanted to verify it with VRBO. Last night scooter return and dinner took precedent. After dinner we returned only to find our power off in the entire unit! Again I called Gaetano and asked did he turn the power off because of the VRBO balance? He said I didn't pay balance so he shut power off. This unfortunately put me in a upset frame of mind and I spent time with Gaetano hovering over me looking at the VRBO site. VRBO did not take final payment, but we should have never been treated the way we were. I payed the balance immediatly, but it really put a down vibe on an otherwise almost flawless Italian vacation and stay in Positano. I think it could have been handled better by our host Gaetano, and even myself.
