The location along the Bras d'Or Lakes is amazing. The cottage is adorable and immaculate. Lots of local wildlife; geese, beaver, and King Fishers greeted me on my first night. The owner is lovely, and very accommodating. I can't wait to return. A definite 10 out of 10!!

The cabin was beautiful with every possible amenity. The owner was available but provided lots of privacy. The local view is beautiful and quiet. The roads to the cabin are a little rough.

Incredible Easter Weekend
Veronica’s Place is even better than advertised! The cottage is gorgeous and has everything you can possibly need. Aileen is a gem. The property is pristine and it’s so peaceful and serene. I plan to go back in the Fall.

We totally enjoyed our stay at Veronica’s Place The scenery is breathtaking, well stocked, and very clean. Would recommend to anyone. Aileen was a wonderful host, very accommodating. Will definitely stay there again 😀👍

Ein wundervolles kleines Häuschen mit allem Komfort und supergemütlich direkt am Bras d'Or Lake. Aileen ist eine liebenswerte und perfekte Gastgeberin. Wir hatten fünf wundervolle Tage dort, sind viel rumgefahren und haben uns am Abend selbst versorgt und es uns im Häuschen gemütlich gemacht. Thank you very much, Aileen. Wonderful!

A personal touch
Cottage was better than advertised- clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. It was almost like being at home, except that it was in beautiful Cape Breton. Woke up every morning to a view of the beautiful Bras d’Or. Within reasonable reach of most areas on Cape Breton.

Wow, stocked like never seen before
While a little further away than originally thought, this precious cottage makes up in charm and comfort. We had noted previous reviews that we ought to do groceries ahead of arrival, so came prepared. However, owner had seen to supply more than i could have imagined. She is such a caring soul... we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage.

There's nowhere else I'd rather stay!
The cottage and surrounding area are absolutely beautiful. Aileen maintains a beautiful property, and is nearby to help with any needs. I've stayed in several locations across Cape Breton Island, and this is by far my favourite.

A beautiful oasis of calm
A lovely property in a gorgeous location. Very quiet - hardly any traffic noise as it is off the main road. A beautiful oasis of calm. We had a wonderful three nights here as part of a road trip and could happily have stayed much longer. The kitchen was very well stocked. Aileen was welcoming and helpful, we couldn't have asked for anything more.

A place to feel good
We had a wonderful week at Aileen's house at "Ottawa Brook". It was super quiet with a great view over the bay. All important things were present in the apartment. We would come back anytime.

Great Location
The setting was wonder. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything needed. It was central to the island which allowed easy day tripping. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a get away with all the amenities. The host was excellent and communication was a priority

Beautiful cottage overlooking the lake. Fully equipped kitchen, everything clean and comfortable. Kayaks and canoe also available, but bring bug spray. Location is a bit remote, but still accessible to all of Cape Breton.

Very relaxing cottage
Excellent rental cottage. Very new, clean and organized. Aileen is a very welcoming host with lots of interesting information about the area. She has equipped the cottage with everything you could possibly need and then some. The view of the lake is beautiful and the stars at night are spectacular. The location is excellent. Very centrally located in Cape Breton with lots of easy day trips for exploring without long drives. Very quiet and very comfortable. We would definitely book this again when returning for a visit.

Excellent guests, love to have people interested in the area. Very warm and easy people. I wanted them to stay for a long time, just for the chats. Lovely people. A treat to rent to.

Perfect place to stay while exploring Cape Breton
Our host couldn’t be more friendly or accommodating. Aileen has thought of everything you might need. Kitchen is well stocked with staples and food in the event you did not go food shopping before check in. This is especially helpful as the closest grocery store is a good distance away.

The perfect cottage
A bit hard to find but well worth the extra few minutes. The cottage is perfect in size for one or two guests. Everything except a few antique items was new, modern, yet comfortable. Staples and a few extras were in stock. The hostess was most helpful. The view is a 10 plus and with use of several kayaks and a canoe you can actually get out on the water. Only draw back is that still shopping restaurants services are some distance away. With an upfront note about that when booking guests can come with supplies to last for their entire stay at Veronica's Place

Wonderful cabin, wonderful hospitality
We had a great time in Ottawa Brook! The cabin is so comfortable and well-equipped. Flora greeted us with a freshly-baked apple rhubarb crumble (delicious!) and provided us with plenty of essentials and a few luxuries in the pantry and the fridge. We couldn't have asked for more!

Beautiful cottage in serene location.
The cottage is absolutely beautiful and very well-equipped, and the property manager is extremely kind and welcoming. A beautiful getaway with a stunning view that is within a short drive of stores/gas/eateries, as well as cultural events in Port Hawkesbury, Judique, Baddeck, and the Gaelic College. Would definitely return!

Lori was such a genuine thoughtful guest. Quiet and so respectful of the property. A treat to have in your space. I would 100% rent to Lori again for any time she wanted.
