Want to hear yourself think, or the birds calling, or escape for a walk in the woods? - this new, artistically built cabin is the place for you! On 70 acres w 2 miles of private trails & stunning views of NW mountains from atop a small mountain in New Sharon, Maine. 1.5 miles down a rugged, dirt road off Rt 27. Year round access for those w 4wd/snow tires (potentially needed Oct through April). Well behaved dogs welcome, snow shoes available, easy access to snowmobile trails & more. Please arrive during daylight hours as the road is difficult to navigate in the dark. Can accommodate 4 with a murphy bed but most comfortable for 2.

A dream cabin surrounded by magical views.
We enjoyed every second of our stay. The cabin is absolutely magnificent, with stunning woodwork and artistic details that perfectly set the tone. Most of the art is created by Kate, the owner, along with other talented local artists. We loved the artwork so much that we made sure to buy some pieces to support her creativity. The views are majestic and breathtaking, with rolling hills encompassing the scenery. Don’t miss a journey to the rooftop deck—you’ll be glad you did! The host’s communication was the best I’ve ever experienced. She took the time to answer all our questions. The bedding was clean, and very comfortable. Every amenity was available to us. Upon our arrival a lovely welcome basket was curated for our stay. This spot is an ideal getaway for nature lovers, artists, musicians, or anyone seeking unique experiences. We look forward to our next visit. Mere words cannot convey how much we loved our stay.

Great spot for a get away
If you are looking for a place that is a reasonable distance from Portland but yet feels like it's in another world, this is it. The combination of location and artistic contribution and facilities makes for a wonderful stay.

Peaceful Relaxation
First off, the host was wonderful! The cabin was beautiful and very clean. She provided amenities for everyone including our furry companions. The private trails were perfect. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back. No complaints. Loved the rooftop deck it was our favorite part.

Wonderful escape!
What a wonderful place to relax for a few days! The cabin is beautiful--even better than the photos! The communication was great, and there were many thoughtful touches. We especially enjoyed the local beer Katy left us (and left some of our own in return). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals. The trails around the property were great for walking our dog. Sunsets from the roof deck were spectacular. We highly recommend booking this place and hope to return one day!

What a gorgeous home in the mountains
The views were spectacular, the home was full of character and and the furniture was so comfortable. The home owner is an artist and she has her beautiful work displayed prominently. My dog was so relaxed there and it was close to many beautiful places for day trips. I would highly recommend it. A very ZEN feel.

fantastic space (do not miss out)
the view was fantastic, the cabin was perfect with everything you could need and secluded enough from neighbors. the host is a wonderful artist and very attentive to details. she took care of everything we needed upon arrival and even gave us some great local information. definitely the go to place when in the area. A++ and highly recommended from the (4) of us and our (2) dogs.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Kathryn’s property was extremely cozy and was the perfect location to separate our lives from the busy city and unwind with nature. Although we were unable to experience the trails due to a snowstorm, my family and I found plenty of things to do indoors. If given the opportunity, my family and I would definitely come back during the summer!

What a perfect 3 nights! We had the most amazing time and were so happy with Kate's communication and the fabulous attention she gives to this beautiful home. Perfect opportunity to connect
What an absolute gem this property is. From our first inquiry to our final check out, everything exceeded our expectations. Katy’s communication was top notch and it wasn’t hard for me to understand why she has so many 5 star reviews because she went out of her way to make it the perfect stay. I always tell people the devil is in the details and although we didn’t use them, she left 4 beers and a frozen pizza in case we would be arriving late. This cabin was built with care and attention to detail and when building this home, you can appreciate that she finds beauty in imperfection (check out the cupboard in the bathroom, it’s stunning). So many cool features from the rooftop deck shower to the welcomed lack of a TV which forces focus on one another. My only disappointment about this getaway was the high bar we will now measure all others against when choosing our vacations.

My friends and I stay at Kathryn's place for the weekend and we loved it! We were in town for a race that was happening in Augusta and the drive to the city was not bad at all. The check-in and out process went smoothly. Kathryn is extremely responsive! She even let us know that there was a farmers market/fair open the weekend we were there. The place is beautiful inside and out! My friends and I all want to come back to visit!

Probably the nicest property we ever stayed at
I always hate leaving beautiful places but I was really upset leaving this one - it was absolutely stunning, beginning to end. The property is in fantastic state and absolutely stunning. Even though its not really baby proof we loved staying with a toddler as we could have her sleep in the rooms while we had a true spa experience up on the roof top. The views are insane! Our daughter also loved exploring the surroundings, including the fun fairie garden. Kate was incredibly responsive and super helpful, not to mention - she really knows how to welcome a guest! We arrived to some beer in the fridge, and a sweet birthday book for my husband! Small things like coffee keurig cups available, plenty of towels and even robes - go a long way! We decided this was one of our best trips away from Boston, and we have done quite a few. We will certainly be back!!

A peaceful getaway
What a memorable experience! We were 5 adults + 2 dogs and we had a great time at Katy’s cabin. There was a bit of a mixup / miscommunication upon arrival, but Katy was super responsive and sorted everything out quickly. The cabin was clean and equipped with everything we needed to make the most of this mountain experience. Would 100% book again! Highlights: -the views are absolutely stunning. We watched the sunset every night -the outdoor shower where you can enjoy the view and feel fully immersed in nature (appreciated the shower shoes and robes supplied!) -great water pressure in the outdoor and indoor shower -our two dogs had a blast—there were dog beds, a gate, and a playpen. I really appreciated not having to drive with all of those items! It was a little stuffy/hot in the rooms with doors, but the host had supplied fans and we opened the windows so it wasn’t a problem. Overall, we appreciated all of the small touches that made the stay relaxing and saved us trips to a store. The house was stocked with plenty of bug spray, some frozen meals, tons of bath products, and wood/ kindling that we used for some great campfires. I’m already sad we’ve left…thank you Katy for a truly memorable stay!

The cabin was absolutely beautiful. The attention to details was amazing. It was very clean and comfortable. The views are stunning especially from the roof top deck. Though the weather didn’t cooperate we still had a wonderful experience. Kathryn was a great host and responded very quickly to any questions we had. Definitely would stay again.

Amazing remote get away
Just a beautiful cabin in the woods. Went with my parents and my wife and while it may be a better romantic couple get away, it slept 4 comfortably. My father who is a builder could not stop marveling at the intricacies of the woodwork. The rest of us had a hard time leaving the upper deck which looks down upon an endless canopy of trees. The hosts are also artists with various pieces available for purchase. They were fantastic also, adding nice touches like local craft beer in the fridge and dog friendly covers for all the furniture. 1 night isn’t enough but I am still glad we had 1 here!

Kate's cabin far exceeded our expectations! We were looking for a place to sleep our family of 5 at a midway point between Stowe, VT and Bar Harbor, ME, but what we got was the highlight of our vacation! Kate was amazing from start to finish, but her place was simply spectacular. We pulled in and our kids were very excited to go "adventuring," otherwise known as hiking. The place was so amazing that our almost 14 year old wanted to get dinner to go so we could get back. We had a delightful evening, we made a hiked, had a bonfire and the highlight of all was the rooftop shower. Myself and my 3 kids all showered in the rooftop shower that is open to the mountains below you. It was an experience I have never had and showering right around sunset was spectacular! We capped our night off looking at the stars and talking as a family on the rooftop deck. Even though we had full internet signal, our family just wanted to enjoy the environment/view and be unplugged. My wife and I will cherish that memory forever! Thank you Kate, I would highly recommend staying here if ever you have the chance. Oh and, as a professional contractor, I really appreciated all the wood finish details. I would change nothing about this place, it is truly special.
