Nice efficiency apartment
The owner was great at communicating every step of the way. The property was well-stocked with everything we needed. There are a lot of stairs up to the apartment that somehow we missed in the listing, but that was an oversight on our part.

Convenient Location, Comfortable Accommodations
Once you climb the stairs you enter a big, bright living/dining area and kitchen. The bedroom and bathroom are also bright and clean. You can easily walk to a wide choice of restaurants on Freret Street. We walked to the St. Charles streetcar to travel within New Orleans. Courtney was very responsive when we had a problem connecting to the WiFi. We appreciated having off-street parking for our car.

Great Stay

Perfect location
I had a quick work trip and was able to book easily. The host Courtney was awesome, sent me great check in info and local info upon my questions. Place was clean and spacious, off street parking was a plus. Bed was a little squeaky BUT SUPER comfy so I didn’t mind. Only thing that may have been nice but not a must because I Had to get up early is some bedroom curtains for the morning sun. But hey, it’s bright and cheery and lovely to wake up to a Nola morning. Great experience!

This was the best experience! I went for a quick trip for a work event for Mardi Gras. Courtney is a fantastic host. She was very accomodating, generous, and made sure everything went smoothly for us. The place was perfect (cleaniness, location, comfort, decor, etc.) I will definitely choose this place again for any future trips and hopefully can stay longer next time.

Relaxing!
I chose this spot as a getaway to relax and just take some time to step away! It was perfect! Private, comfortable, amenities were perfect for what I needed. The hostess was communicable and easy to reach and responsive! Very nice and a great area! I will definitely stay here again!

Wish I could stay longer.
Definitely my to go place in NOLA. Could walk to so many great places….until the temperature went into the teens my last day or so :( My son and his girlfriend who live in NOLA had to come stay w/ me for the last night since their old shotgun house had barely existing insulation. . Schools were shut and even bridges were closed for icy conditions. Unlike many places in town, the Lair was nice and cozy.

Beautiful little apartment
There was confusion about arrival date so the host had not finished cleaning but she responded promptly (esp considering it was Christmas Day) and explained what happened. She apologized and made it right

Oh my goodness Jim, I know exactly what you're talking about. From time to time I have to tighten the screws on the canopy bed so that they don't squeak. Doing it right now. Thank you for the heads up!

Great space
We enjoyed our stay! Good quiet location. Nice neighborhood with good food options etc. The lair was good, we chose it so we had the chance to eat in and have some living space and be quieter further out of the main section of town - all of which it delivered on. It was a little worn with tiles off wall in bathroom, door hinge broken etc. A second chair for table would help as very low to use the small armchair. Bed and pillows was comfortable but could have had softer sheets. We didn’t use the spare in the lounge but it was very comfy when lay on it! The bedroom was bright to sleep in - I needed an eye mask as someone who likes a dark space. It could do with curtains/better blinds to help as the street light shines in, plus it is sun rise side so gets bright early. Air con unit was very loud so imagine if it had been hotter we would have struggled, but the fan was enough for us in October overnight. Courtney gave us a link to an article with some great recommendations. Check in and out was easy, though the front door lock was a little temperamental at times. All in all we had a great stay and was a good location for our first trip to Nola!

Moving my daughter back to school

Cute Place
Overall the stay was very nice, we did have some issues with the toilet not working for our stay and we weren’t able to get ahold of the owner until after we left. That being said we only stayed one night and she was in a different time zone. She did respond very promptly when she found out about our situation and sent the maintenance guy immediately. Great area tho! We had lots of fun walking around, grabbing coffee and dinner!

15/10 recommend. Great location.
Courtney was super friendly leading up to our arrival and the unit was super clean and quiet. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the French Quarter and just about two blocks to some good eating places. HIGHLY recommend checking out Dat Dog, Good Bird, and D.P. Dough. They are all right on the same block. Also Walmart is about a ten minute drive if you forgot any essentials. Courtney thank you so much for being one of the highlights of our trip. We will be back and booking with you again.

Short getaway
Location was great. Walk a few blocks to bus into downtown or about 10min walk to the trolley for downtown. It was clean and nice. Communication and ease of check in and check was great.

Nice location, good value, nice decor, some noise.
Overall, we felt this vrbo was very good value for the money. The decor was lovely, it has nice high ceilings and tons of windows, natural light and you can get a nice cross flow of air if you open multiple windows (most have screens). We used this feature as the a/c that worked (there are two in the unit, but one would not stay on) was very effective, but very, very loud. It was just the two of us, but we used the day bed in the living area as one of us snores. The bed frames creek a lot but that doesn't matter if you are only 1 in the bed. The location is a nice quiet neighborhood, short drive to french quarter, city park, etc. Small parking pad right outside the door. The unit itself is not perfect. We didn't notice on the listing that there is no table to eat a meal at, even though there is a full kitchen. We couldn't find a toaster and the toilet made a terrible whistling sound every time it was flushed. None of these are showstoppers and are completely manageable. We had great communication for check in instructions, Courteney had coffee, snacks and beer in the fridge for us which is very thoughtful. We did have an issue as the key code deadbolt lock on the front door didn't work for us mid trip at 10pm and we could not get ahold of the owner. That resolved but did worry us for a bit! Also, one night at the owner's house that the rental backs onto some young folks decided that 12:40am was a great time to move their "party" from inside the house onto the deck that is right below the bedroom windows. It was a Saturday night but was still unexpected by us as we had selected a quiet neighborhood vrbo thinking we were away from the french quarter noise. Overall good value for the money and with a few minor tweaks it would be a great place to stay.

Hi Mary Ann, Thank you for much for your input! I have taken action to resolve them. The battery on the door keypad has been replaced and there is a back up lock box on the stair rail with a back up key in case this ever happens again. Apologies that I did not let you know that the table extends to seat two; I have now put that in the check in instructions. My handyman corrected the squeaking on the bed and the leaky toilet flap. The noise on the backporch was from my house. I was out of town and my daughter had her friends over....when the cats away the mice will play...I've spoken with her about this and it won't happen again. I hope that you will come back and stay at the Lair again with these tweaks having been made....I would love to have you!

NO Trip
After a couple days of flight cancelations we made it to NO. Courtney was very understanding about our late arrival. The place was a perfect location for us. We took the road car to French Quarter down St Charles and it was a amazing view and we got off and walked the wholr area. Freret street around the corner with all kinds of shops and places to eat. The space was clean and roomy for us. We will definitely stay here again if we get a chance to come back to NO.

The perfect Location!
We throughly enjoyed our stay at this quiet and quaint property! The host was kind and very quick to respond to any questions we had throughout our stay. As for the location of the property - I wish I could pick it up and move it with us everywhere we travel! The property is located within walking distance to Coffee Shops, a bakery, restaurants and even a grocery store. We walked to a beautiful park, the zoo and even toured Tulane and Loyola campuses, all by foot. We’ll be back to visit this amazing host and her fantastic property!

Best Experience
This was our first time staying at a B&B. Overall, this was the best experience ever. We were able to check in early which was a huge plus. The place was clean, well stocked with everything you could possibly imagine. There were even snacks ready for us as well as champagne and margaritas in the refrigerator! Super cozy but spacious was well. The property is right in the center of everything! Courtney is a super great host. We could not have asked for anything more! If it were possible I would give Courtney and the Lair 10 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect stay
Courtney’s place had everything we needed and was in a perfect location to get to Magazine street, downtown New Orleans and then to Baton Rouge for a ballgame. Check in was super easy. Courtney brought over sheets for my son to sleep on the daybed when I told her he was coming for one night. Great communication and service!

A Perfect Little Stay
While in town for a wedding in the French Quarter, we spent our last night in town here. Still close enough for a 13-20 minute ride to Bourbon St. and about 15 minutes from City Park. A few great restaurants as well as MoJos coffee within walking distance. The warehouse area isn't far either! Great communication and flexibility on our checkin/out. The unit was plenty spacious and nice. Definitely a break from the energy of Bourbon St.!

2nd time staying here. Fantastic!
We enjoyed our stay last year so much that we came back! Our host, Courtney, has a lovely clean and quiet rental with easy access to all the fun on Freret St. She even replaced a noisy AC unit mid stay for us. Highly recommended!
