We are a group of 8 people (family and friends), who just stayed a week in Los Arcos. We chose the place because of the many positive reviews, but kind of agreed that calling it a luxury house is a bit exaggerated. When we arrived the house smelled a little moldy, and there were dust lying in the corners and cobwebs under the bed (and a spider IN the bed :-)) The smell disappeared after a day, so no big deal. Still not something you expect from a luxury house. The dishwasher didn't work properly, so you had to wash the plates and glasses by hand afterwards. Also, the internet is really slow. Some of us had to do some work while we were there, which was almost impossible, at least if more than one person was online at the same time. Another thing that was a bit inconvenient are the toilets in the rooms. They have no doors. Only a little curtain. Using the toilet by night when your friend is lying just beside felt weird and we usually waited till the next morning. Doors would be nice :-) Also, the kitchen was filled with ants and even though we put our bread in plastic bags the ants usually found a way in. All of us also agreed that the fountain in the pool was annoying. It's very zen and cosy the first five minutes when you arrive, but after a while when you sit by the pool and almost can't hear what each other are saying, it gets really irritating. We asked if they could turn it off, but that wasn't possible. It turns on and off at different times of the day. We made our own homemade solution with some plastic underneath etc in the pool to quiet it a bit. That helped. It may sound like we're nitpicking, but from all the positive reviews we had expected a different standard. Also, many of the things could be easily improved. And now to the good stuff :-) The house is quite big, the rooms are okay and the showers are great. The village is a cosy, little and charming village even though not much is happening. It's a great place if you want to hike in the mountains or visit the caves nearby which several of us loved. If you want to have a really nice dinner, head for Molino del Santo in the next village. The food and the service there is great! Also, the communication with the agent before and after arriving was fine. And when the fountain was off, we very much enjoyed the outdoor area and the pool and had a couple of cosy nights barbecuing.
