Several girlfriends and I were in search of a quiet & private place to enjoy a week away from our everyday lives. What a great and beautiful find! The home is nestled in a large active vineyard (great for hiking/wandering about). The pictures are quite exact in their representation of the house and the property. Not pictured is an expandable dining room table (seating up to six) – which served our meals game-playing needs. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms. The large kitchen allowed several ‘cooks’ to be working at the same time. Plenty of counter space – a must for me. The home was clean and well equipped. We used the place as a homebase – from which we visited friends, went wine tasting (Brassfield & Langtry, though there are plenty more in the county), explored the adjacent county hiking park, and poked around Middletown itself (breakfast and lunch at the Cowpoke Café – tasty and huge helpings). We enjoyed the quietude and sereneness – it reminded me of time spent on my grandmother’s farm when I was a child --ponds to explore, running creek at the property line, jack rabbits in the vineyards, hawks flying in the daytime sky, big nighttime sky for star gazing, horses grazing in the neighbor's pasture. Being as we were there in wintertime, we appreciated the very efficient heater. I can imagine enjoying using the outside deck and lawn spaces in better weather months. The host, Andre’, communicated well and promptly – from initial booking to questions during our stay. I hope to make it back when the temperatures are a tad warmer and the vines are full of grapes!
