We loved it!
We absolutely loved the old Hollywood vibe of the Beverly Laurel! The rooms might not be luxurious or renovated but the bathroom was huge and the room was clean and spacious. The outside space is what makes this hotel/motel really fabulous though! Nice small pool and the decor is so true to style. We couldn’t help taking pictures of it all day every day because of the many details and the changing in lights.

This is such a cool mid-century modern motel. Nicely updated but still keeping that style. Room was large, comfortable, with retro refrigerator and microwave. Nice toiletries provided, spacious shower. I loved it!

I gave a 3 overall because the A/C unit sounds like an alien space ship and is really loud. And the walls are thin. I could hear my neighbors conversation clear as day while I was trying to sleep at 12:00am at night. But everything else was good.

This is a cute kitschy hotel that would be great however, many components of the property were not functioning well. In the advertisement it shows the Beverly Laurel sign lit up with the hotel grounds and it was not. No elevator service was provided. I don’t remember if I read this in the description, however, not having an elevator in this hotel was a complete hindrance. I feel as though the pictures and description on Expedia didn’t quite match the reality of the property. The front desk staff checked us and offered no help with luggage. As we entered in the room, the lighting was weirdly wired. There is not enough plugs. The rooms are very small, which are OK if you don’t have a lot of luggage and you’re not expecting to stay for a long period of time. Our room was a two double bed room, and the location of the AC unit was very noisy and did not compensate for cooling the whole room. The neighborhood was fine , close to all of the West Hollywood locations and shopping districts however, the streets around this area are dirty and there are a lot of homeless people. Parking was very tight however was free. This location is a great place to stay without children and if you’re not looking for too much glitz and glamour. Also the attached restaurant was worth the money.

The word that best describes the Beverly Laurel is shabby. Although the lobby seems to belong to a hip, SoCal boutique hotel, the accommodations tell a much different story. The rooms have bad lighting, thin, stained sheets, tiny sofa-cushion size pillows on the beds, saggy old mattresses and noisy, worn out air conditioning/heater units. Surfaces are sticky and you wouldn’t dare to walk around without socks. As the icing on the cake, the hotel has the nerve to charge a resort fee. I’ll never stay here again.

2nd time I stayed here for a test at Cedars Sinai. Everything worked except the clock dead battery and the elevator was not working secondary to some upgrades.

The hotel was cute and clean. The bed was comfy. There was a microwave and coffeemaker in the hotel room. Parking was easy. However, the elevator is not working and the staff member didnt even warn us when he told us how to get to our room on the 3rd floor- with all of our luggage. The construction next door started at 7am. It was very loud and definitely couldn’t sleep through it. This trip was for leisure and a quiet place is at the top of my list when I am on vacation. So I was very disappointed to wake up so early. We paid the $35 resort fee which just seems like an extra fee for a place with no working elevator and housekeeping that doesn’t come daily. We didn’t have time to use the pool. Although the pool area seemed nice and guests were relaxing around the pool since we arrived on a beautiful day. It was a perfect and safe walk to Hollywood improve. I would stay here again but for the noise and elevator. I do wish we booked a quiet place.

We stayed 5 nights at the Berverly Laurel Inn and we loved this place. It was one of the more affordable hotels/motels in the area and because it was so central to everything we wanted to do it was the perfect choice for us. We really did enjoy our stay there, a few things to know if you’re planning on staying there: Noise Level It was very loud in the surrounding area, a huge construction site is right next to the Inn so starting at 8am you’ll be able to hear loud construction. It is an older hotel so noise travels very easily and the walls are thin enough that the music playing in the pool area can be heard in your room as well as cleaners carts rolling through. My boyfriend sleeps with earplugs in anywhere we go and he was fine but I don’t like to sleep with ear plugs so I had to put white noise on to stay asleep. Cleanliness I couldn’t stop commenting on how good it smelt within the common spaces and our room! So so clean smelling, it’s my biggest thing with hotels is the smell and this place was awesome! You can request a day ahead to have your room cleaned as well but they will not automatically provide cleaning. Area/activity & food We found it very easy to find things to do in and around the area. It’s super central to popular attractions like Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, The Grove and more! We don’t mind walking so we chose to walk places and had no issues with the walkability of the area! Overall it was lovely!!

The man at the front desk was not very welcoming at check-in. We asked where the elevator was, and he gave us directions, and then informed me us was broken. The hot tub at the pool area was not working and out of service. Nothing special about this hotel, and we would not stay there again.

Staff was helpful. We had a large sitting area and separate bedroom suite which was nice. There were no door signs to let housekeeping know to clean, so no clean towels. The elevator was broken.

I love staying here. My first time was about 25 years ago & it’s still my first choice whenever I’m in town. The staff is always so friendly & the upgrades they made to the property are just right. Location is perfect for our needs. Having 24 hr Swingers downstairs really is a bonus too.

Elevator was broken, so was the heating which was not ok as it was really cold weather. Also internet was very patchy & stopped working altogether overnight. Very overpriced considering how many things weren’t working, after one night we checked out & moved somewhere else

Good for the price , had to book it last minute. Cleaning is not the best , you have to request daily maintenance to thw room and even though ask several time for clean towels and toiletries. Location is 20 min away for main streets and city sightseeing. No to many good restaurants near by

Property was in a very safe and walkable area, 4 blocks from the Grove and Farmers Market and reasonably close to Melrose and Hollywood walk of fame. Will definitely return. Also Swingers restaurant next door is absolutely fabulous!

The pictures were beautiful and we could see glimpses of that here and there. Our room was very musty, had missing tiles in the shower, mold behind the sink, a bathroom door that wouldn’t close, a bathroom light that turned itself on and off, and a semi working heater. To top it off our room was never cleaned during our three night stay. The valet was amazing and quick. The staff, for the most part, was friendly.

Such a cute hotel right next to a cute diner perfect for breakfast lunch or dinner. Also an amazing location close to Beverly hills, weho, and Hollywood Blvd. Such a cute vintage feel took us back and we loved it

The rooms are in quite poor condition. Our bathroom door did not close and the beds were teeny tiny. Elevators were broken and we had a fair bit of luggage to bring up to the third floor. The location is great though and staff were all friendly.

The room is smelly and old, no air ventilation. The towels are older and gross than the towels of the car washing places .

Bummer that the only elevator they had was broken and we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases then each time we went anywhere, it was those 3 flights of stairs again and again. There were missing tiles in the shower that should really be replaced. We needed to get the manager to come to our room to figure out how to get the internet password to work and how to get the television to a local station if we wanted to watch the Oscars or the news. They were helpful, but they might want to leave instructions in the rooms on one sheet of paper that tells step by step instructions on how to work the television and where the ice machine is located and other things that most motels/hotels have instructions in the rooms for. I have stayed at this hotel for decades and it looks nicer than it has ever looked. It just needs to fix broken things (keep them up) and leave instructions in rooms for things that guests might need help with.

Great base for exploring Fairfax / West Hollywood
This was a great place to stay - well located, cool retro vibe with clean and modern rooms, fun Swingers Coffee Shop literally next door, convenient valet parking. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Two small reservations: housekeeping was only available on request, which was not made clear when I checked in; and the mattress was like a futon mattress, not very comfortable. I would stay here again nevertheless.
