Although, we are a little confused as to your review. All the motel rooms have 2 locks on the door that lock from the inside. One being the regular lock and the second being a deadbolt. I can guarantee this is a very safe place. In fact, Kennebunk is rated the "safest" town in Maine. As far as your comment being run down. Yes, we are an older property but we are constantly doing repairs/renovations. In fact this past spring all the motel rooms got new carpeting. Other renovations that were done this past spring was a brand new driveway, new kitchen in one of the cottages, 2 of the units were re-painted and the list goes on. We wished you would have said something when you were here, none of this was mentioned when you came into the office the next morning to check out.
