The owner of this property is clearly a sweetie pie, and also a consummate host because the amenities, the extra touches and the lovely notes she left around the cottage certainly conveyed that impression. There were biscuits and a dog bed laid out for the pup, ingredients to make s’mores (including brand new marshmallow toasting sticks), toiletries of all kinds and every kind of spice, kitchen appliance, condiment and creature comfort we could possibly need.
The property sits right next to a highway which has so little traffic on it that I don’t think we heard three cars go by all night. There is also a train track nearby, and three or four trains past during our stay, but it was charming and nostalgic to hear the train whistle as it went by. It was certainly not a problem in any way!
we were just sorry not to have the opportunity to meet our host and thank her in person for both her generosity and her thoughtfulness. A great stopover spot on our trip north to Canada.
