We absolutely adored this hotel and we loved staying here. It is in the middle of a lot of action in Saigon but it is tucked away into a quiet alley where we slept peacefully every night. The breakfast served at the hotel every is absolutely wonderful. The staff was so helpful and kind and genuinely enthusiastic about helping the guests. We left our bags on site when we arrived because we were hours earlier than check in and when we came back, they were in the room with the AC on. They even offered to let us shower when we came back to retrieve our stored bags after checkout because we had a late flight and went out exploring the hot city all day. There’s laundry service for a very small fee so we were able to pack lightly and have our clothes washed. They helped us book a scooter food tour through the hotel and we got a little discount that way on an amazing outing in the city. If you want an authentic saigon experience I highly recommend Ben Thanh retreats hotel. really can’t say enough good things about the place.

Fabulous property, the owner was attentive. His recommendations for food and local experiences were great. It was as close to getting a local experience as you can find. Breakfast and coffee included Highly recommended

Our 2nd of hopefully many more stays in this gem!
Great location set among private homes in a small, quiet laneway, this hotel has it all as far as we're concerned; amazing staff (nothing is too much trouble), comfortable room and bed, lovely breakfast, close to wide array of restaurants, walking distance to cheap shopping outlets. We loved our stay and will definitely be back next time we're in HCM.

Would describe Retreat as a guest house. Comfortable and clean. Good bed nice pillows. Nice fluffy towels. Excellent AC which didn't give me a stuffy nose. WiFi good. Treated as a family member not a guest. Staff had good English conversation skills and always went out of their way to be helpful. Also provided currency exchange at a very good rate. Breakfast was very laid back, a sea of calm in the midst of traffic chaos. A healthier breakfast than I would eat at home of seasonal fruit followed by a choice of fried rice, beef noodles or omelette. All excellent. The only drawback was that it took time for water to get warm.

Had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful and the manager, Giap was exceptionally very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this property to any one who asks me where to stay when in Ho Chi Minh city.

Although the location of hotel is on a alley but Ben Thanh retreats hotel is still an excellent choice. The hotel is well organized, clean and safe. The hotel manager, Mr. Giáp is friendly and very helpful for you to stay. I’ll be coming back soon.

I chose this hotel due to location and was beyond impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the facilities. I have been disappointed in the past by pictures not representing the property accurately but this facility surpassed any expectations I had. As soon as you step in you feel you are made to feel you are at home, the staff (owners?) are extremely friendly and accommodating in every way. My only regret is not having more time to spend there...for sure this is my new “go to” hotel in HCMC.

Taxi rip off , beware!
Great hotel, we were riped off by a taxi to this hotel, the owners helped us to report to the police, ( i took a photo of taxi ) they cought the driver, who agreed to repay us ( with compasation ! ) could not have done this without their help. Will definatly stay here again! Grat location & very clean. 10/10

A pleasant staying
I had a very pleasant staying on this hotel. First of all it has a very good location and it's not a far away from anywhere. Either you can walk to your destination or take a Grab, which normally cost around 0,5-1$ to get any location within 3km radius. The hotel managing couple was in a word REALLY friendly and helpful on anything which i needed a quidence or anykinda assistance on. The hotel room were quiet, clean and i have nothing bad to say about it. Breakfast were really great also. I would give 10/10 to this place.

Loved staying here in HCMC! Had such a wonderful welcome by the staff, complete with free food and lots of beer. :-) Great room for a wonderful price, and very helpful staff if I needed anything like a scooter or taxi for transport. Can't wait to return and stay here again!

Exceptional staff
We stayed with them for few days and the owner couple were so helpful from the beginning to the end. They truly cared for us. Rooms were clean and spacious and this hotel is really worrh the price. Its close to all the main streets. Its a hidden gem.

My wife and I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The hosts were very accommodating and very friendly. The breakfast in the morning is delicious! If we ever needed recommendations for anything, they were more than happy to help us out. The room and bathroom is clean. It has A/C. The bed is firm, so if you don't like that, you might want to pick a different spot. The area is very quiet so you'll be able to sleep in if you want to. The hotel does not have direct car road access, so you will have to walk about 2 minutes to get to the hotel. We had no issues ordering tours because of this. This location is also very close to the backpacker street.

호스트가 굉장히 친절해서 소매치기 조심하는 법, 숙소 근처 길 안내에 근처 맛집까지 추천해줬어요. 가격대비 위치, 시설, 청결도 모두 정말 훌륭합니다. 다음에 호치민에 다시 오게된다면 재방문 의사 있습니다.

I liked the location, felt really immersed in Ho Chi living . The bustle along the little lane is great . Easy enough to walk to a few places . Our hosts couldn't do enough to help find and direct . And make sure we got the best of what we were looking for . Comfy clean room . Excellent shower . And a good breakfast . Highly Recommended

A bit difficult to get to with a big bag, as the alleyway is not wide enough for a taxi. More than made-up for by the friendly owners and the new and spotless facilities. Just a bit of a walk to food outlets and Ben Thanh Market.

I and my girfriend KL stayed at this hotel from july 5th. I was a fantastic accomandation and the service was personal and very very good. We had a room With balcony, and I like it a lot. We had stayed in many 4 and 5 stars hotel during Our trip in Viet nam, all from Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An and now Saigon. The service providet here was one of the best. I will also like to mention the breakfast that was fresh and tasty. The location is a few minutes to walke from Ben Than marked, for some maybe a little to far. But there are always taxi nearby and the ride is very cheap. Overall this was a good hotel that I will recommend, and will come back too.
