Wish we had more time
This was such a cool place to stay! After two weeks in Varadero, we spent one night here before flying out of Havana. Upon arrival the staff was super friendly and helpful, they took all our luggage to our room while we had a complimentary welcome drink at the bar downstairs. They also arranged our taxi for the airport and our taxi for a tour of downtown Havana. The little bar and cafe on site was fantastic. Great food, great drinks, and great service. I had the chicken tacos, which were huge and super fresh tasting. My wife had the shrimp in garlic oil, came out still boiling hot and delicious. My son had a Cuban sandwich which looked amazing, and we ordered a ham and cheese sandwich for the little one to pull apart and a bread appetizer. All that plus 6 or 7 very good drinks for under $60 We had a baby and a stroller with us, which doesn't do well with all the stairs there, but anytime I needed to move the stroller, there was always someone running to help me. My only complaint is we didn't have enough time here. Would have loved to try the breakfast or take a dip in the pool. Would absolutely go back!

Beautiful accomodation
I did not receive the room I reserved, and at first the man at the reception said I don't have a reservation with them even though I had messaged several times with someone from the hotel through Hotels.com. Was a very uncomfortable check-in experience as I had to insist and show repeatedly the reservation confirmation before getting a room. Otherwise the place is beautiful and room was clean.

Our stay was nothing short of AMAZING! From the beginning to end, Julia the owner/manager was very helpful. The cab was at the airport immediately upon arrival. The front desk staff was very accommodating, the bar and restaurant staff was beyond amazing, the housekeeping staff was nice, the free massage was excellent, the free breakfast was delicious EVERYDAY! Angela, Hanoy, and Yoda, the staff, made us feel so loved! Felt like home! The ambiance was everything! The room and view was beautiful! My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay for the first time in Cuba! We made a new family there and will definitely be visiting again. I would definitely recommend 20/20!

We were welcomed by Julia, the owner right at arrival. After being escorted to our room, the receptionist Laeca welcomed us as well and gave us the Wi-Fi password. She also showed us where the pool and restaurant is and the hours it was open. The property is lovely. With plants greenery and a huge mango tree outside our window. It was wonderful to have access to a pool as well. There were a lot of barking dogs in the neighborhood but that's Cuba. There was the odd rooster crowing as well which was charming. We arrived from another location in Havana, with stomach issues.Laeca made sure we were well cared for with ginger tea and checked periodically on our well being. The restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating, serving us on the terrace and in our room when needed. Julia checked with us often and ordered bananas for us when I asked where I could get them. We couldn't have asked for better attentiveness from everyone! A taxi was ordered for us for our trip to the airport. I highly recommend a stay there for a taste of Cuban life in a comfortable, friendly accommodation.

Wir waren ein paar Tage bei Julia. Julia und ihr Team werden dich herzlich willkommen heißen. Dieser Ort ist perfekt für diejenigen, die ihre Ruhe mögen, während sie immer noch nah genug an Havanna sind. Das Zimmer war gut und sauber. Es gibt einen privaten Innenpool mit kleinem Innenpool in dem Raum, aber ehrlich; ich bin mir nicht sicher, wofür er genutzt werden soll. Es ist ein schöner Gimmick. Der Außenpool ist einladend und das Gelände ist ebenso schön und gepflegt. Das Haus ist wunderschön. Das Viertel ist ruhig und friedlich. Alles in allem würde ich ihm fünf kubanische Sterne geben, was bedeutet, dass es eine perfekte Preis-Qualitätsmischung mit freundlichem Personal ist, die dir bei allem helfen, was du brauchst. Auch wenn dies ein bisschen weit weg von der Stadt Havanna erscheinen mag, fanden wir es ein schönes „Refugio“ abseits des hektischen Treibens. Ein Taxi bringt dich in etwa 20 Minuten ins Stadtzentrum, gleichzeitig kannst du einen Tag am Pool genießen, gefolgt von einem schönen Abendessen im Restaurant. Wir kommen wieder.

Large room with safe, air con and en suite bathroom. Extremely helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. Nice quiet hotel with great views of the city. Perfect for when you land in Cuba and need some time to adjust to the heat and to decompress.

An oasis from the heat and noise of Havana
La Rose de Ortega is an oasis of tranquility after the heat and pace of Havana. The reception staff Leza and Claudia are exceptional and so helpful. The hotel is beautifully furnished with artefacts from the past - plus the room, pool and restaurant are very comfortable. The food and service are very good - the best locally.

We loved our stay. It was nice to stay somewhere quieter after travelling around Cuba for a couple of weeks. All the different areas in the garden mean guests can spread out and relax in a peaceful place. From our bathroom we could see the Capitolio and Havana’s skyline which was a nice way to end it our stay. The food and drinks were amazing. All the staff who worked there were friendly and very helpful.

Casa molto bella, in un quartiere residenziale a circa venti minuti di taxi da Havana Vieija, distanza assolutamente compensata dalla qualità offerta da questo alloggio. Dispone anche di un ristorante dove abbiamo mangiato il pranzo più buono del nostro soggiorno a Cuba. Un grazie particolare alla ragazza che ci ha accolto, molto gentile disponibile.

Cet hôtel est très agréable et calme. Offre une belle vue sur les alentours. Grande chambre dans une magnifique maison, avec piscine et restaurant dans lequel on mange très bien. Le personnel est au top. Le seul point négatif est sa localisation ; très excentré du centre de La Havane (plus d’une heure à pieds).

One of the most unique and special Places I have stayed when traveling. The staff is great!! The food is amazing and the uniqueness of it makes you want to just stay in and chill by the pool or patio. Silvia and Julio, the couple that owns the property, are the nicest!! We only stayed one night at this lovely hotel, but wished we had longer. It was our last night in Cuba and we wanted to relax and this is the perfect place! It’s beautiful and the staff are lovely. Our room was separate from the main house and it was spacious, private and really lovely inside. it even had a view over the city, 2 floors and a huge bathroom. It was actually the best place we stayed the whole time! The restaurant there is great, we had breakfast and lunch and would highly recommend to eat there. They allowed us to stay and use the pool until we had to leave for our flight which was super nice. Having spent a few hectic days in Havana at the beginning of our trip, this place is a really nice way to enjoy it from a distance and also have some holiday vibes and relaxation. I can’t comment on the area as we only got a taxi into the old town which takes around 10 minutes so we didn’t have a chance to explore. There didn’t seem to be so much around, but I am sure if you stayed longer you might find there is and the staff for sure would be able to help you! Also the taxi is not far to central if not. Super relaxing and wonderful time, highly recommended!

Very nice place!
Clean place, very nice Casa, gentle people. Just a bit light in terms of breakfast and dinner, and quite far from city center (old Town).

Amazing stay at la Rosa de Ortega! The location is amazing (amazing view, great restaurants around). The staff was very very friendly!
