Klassisk gammelt hotel
Fortrinligt hotel med fine værelser i god stand. Service er perfekt, og der er rigeligt med hjælpsomt personale alle steder. Hotellet er i gammel klassisk stil, hvilket gør det meget hyggeligt. Udmærket restaurant og morgenmad.

Very nice and beautiful hotel. Especially the lobby and restaurant/bar are very nice. Our room was behind the hotel in another and newer building attached to the lobby by a long hallway. This building was no where near as nice as the old building with the lobby. This building is absolutely not 5 stars. However the room was fine, we were on the 6th floor and had a perfect view which upgraded the room. Had we been on the 1st floor, we probably would have been disappointed. While we where there, there was two weddings, a baptism and a conference. It was very fun to observe, but some people might think it was a bit noisy and crowded in the lobby. Location is perfect and staff friendly and helpful.

We love the location of this hotel, the breakfast was outstanding, and we were allowed to check in early. The only negative I can possibly think of is that the bathroom didn't have enough counter space. Other than that this stay was perfect!

Wonderful location and welcoming staff. We had a comfortable stay and the room was always stocked with plenty of complementary snacks and water. The room was small but that was to be expected. The bathroom was tiny and the shower design was a bit lacking as the floor was easily flooded by the shower if not extremely careful. Overall a lovely stay for our family of four.

Flott
Flott hotell som ligger nær både attraksjoner og shopping. Rommene var gode og personalet var serviceinnstilte og hjelpsomme. Det er også lett å komme seg til hotellet fra flyplassen med trikken.

5 Sterne Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal und sehr unkompliziert. Das Hotel liegt perfekt zur Princess Street und in der Nahzone zur Royal Mile. Ausserdem sind rund um das Hotel viele Lokale mit leckerem Essen angesiedelt. Früstück im Hotel sehr gut!

Intercontinental The George 3 night stay
We visit Edinburgh once a year & have stayed in various locations. We booked the Intercontinental based on the location as we were planning to be in New Town more for this visit. We were checked in quickly with all relevant information passed on & found our room to be lovely. We had already planned our visit so other than breakfast we did not eat at the hotel, however breakfast was exceptional. Amar in the restaurant made sure each day that all was well & was very attentive. The food for breakfast was well cooked & hot - we both mentioned it was the best hotel breakfast we had eaten. Having stayed in many hotels we will most definitely return to the intercontinental & would highly recommend it to all as it had everything spot on - Thankyou. We were actually there for my husbands birthday & we were treated to an upgrade to the club room one morning for breakfast. I don’t believe you were aware of that, but it made the break even more memorable - Thankyou

This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. I stayed here last May and loved it so much I returned last week. The old town of Edinburgh is a short walk away, while the hotel, itself, is on the edge of the new town with many great shops, pubs and restaurants from which to choose. The staff is very friendly and management truly aims to please. You won't be disappointed with this choice and personally, I am already looking forward to my return!

This is not really five stars, or not by American standards. There are flights of stairs within floors, so hard for people with mobility issues. Heat didn’t work in our room, a computer problem in the end, but took a long time to sort out. Clothes hangers were broken and not checked. Room staff speak no English. TV has no premium channels, like Sky Sports, so good luck if snooker is not your fave. Staff were kind a tried, but this is not a five star experience, compared with eg Balmoral, and we paid close to $1000 per night.
