Skuffende til prisen. Lille værelse - ingen varme og vinduerne var meget utætte, så rigtig koldt både på værelset og badeværelset. Brugte ikke faciliteterne på hotel, så kan ikke vurder dem. Beliggenheden var helt i top ;-).

Location perfect
The location was perfect as we were going to the Royal Military Tattoo, and all up there was in walking distance from the hotel.and close to sightseeing busses and trams.. Very frendly and helpful staff members that did everything to make us feel very velcome Enjoyed the style of decorations.

Værelsesgangene og selve værelset var decideret lurvet. Badeværelset elendigt og bruseren virkede ikke acceptabelt. De forsøgte at afhjælpe, men uden held. Reception og bar var pæne.

Meget venligt personale og meget central beliggenhed. Vi gik til ALT. Ikke det nyeste hotel, men rene seng og masser af smil. Vi nød det.

Fint hotel lige i centrum
Min søster og jeg var der fem dage i starten af september, vores ophold på hotellet var rigtig godt, personalet er søde og hjælpsomme, og der var rent og pænt på værelset. Larm kunne dog høres ret højt ude fra gaden, selvfølgelig især fredag og lørdag nat, men alt i alt havde vi et rigtig godt ophold. Ville med glæde bo der en anden gang!

Spent 6 nights at the Royal British Hotel in August 2014. The location was perfect in the middle of town, staff at the hotel great, very helpful. Parts of the hotel were a bit "worn down", but clean and generally all right. With one exception - the bed was awful. We could feel we were lying directly on top of the springs. After the first night we asked to have an extra quilt put on top of the bed below the sheet; this helped, but at a 3-star hotel I did not expect a mattress that should have been replaced years ago.

The old rooms certainly not worth the prize
The quality of the room ( 119 ) was no near worth the prize we gave. One bed was default and could not be slept in - 4 lightbulbs weren't working, one glas was missing in it's place in the bath room, the room was really full of dust and the view was right out to a garbage container!! The B & B we had stayed in for 8 nights prior to the visit to Edinburgh was far better. The photos of the rooms on the website does not match what one sees when coming to the hotel and staying in the room we stayed in.The worst thing that I was unlucky to find a 1½ cm metal thing in my potato scone at breakfast- which meant an expensive bill at the dentist once I returned home. The 9,95 £ was reimbursed up on check out ( but unfortunately does not pay my dentist bill. ).Would not return to this hotel until all rooms are redecorated. On the positive side, the hotel could not be placed in a more perfect area!! Wonderful.

Fantastisk beliggenhed
Beliggenheden er helt perfekt. Man bor lige ved siden af stationen, som gør det nemt at komme til fra lufthavnen. Er man heldig har man udsigt direkte til Edinburgh Castle.

Slidt hotel med perfekt belligenhed
Jeg overnattede to nætter på hotellet, i forbindelse med en kort smuttur til Edinburgh. Beliggenheden bliver ikke meget bedre, lige overfor Waverley station, og et stenkast fra lufthavns- og sightseeingbusser og flere af de store attraktioner. Der er gratis trådløst internet på værelserne, samt el-kedel og kaffe/the. Morgenmaden var ikke inkluderet i prisen, kunne tilkøbes for 19 pund, men kan få flere steder i området til omkring en fjerdedel af den pris. Værelset jeg havde var slidt og trængte gevaldigt til en istandsættelse. Sengens fjedre havde kendt bedre tider og tæppet var plettet. Vinduet var gammelt enkeltglas, og trods flere ihærdige forsøg, lykkedes det mig ikke at åbne det. Udsigten gennem det gamle maletilplettede vindue var ud mod en meget lille baggård. Der var stille om natten, så som et sted at overnatte og ikke tilbringe meget tid, var det ok. Beliggenheden alene, gør at jeg trods alle fejl og mangler, nok vil overveje at overnatte der igen, men vi dog alligevel først undersøge prisen for andre hoteller i samme område først.

Good but not great
Lovely staff & nice hotel let down by a few little things. (Heating in the room was broken so a portable oil heater was provided instead. Single glazed windows made the room cold & noisy. The bedside drawers had been fixed shut and there were no shelves in the wardrobe.) The room was a decent size. Breakfast was good. Location excellent.

Room needed a deep clean. Toilet flush broke twice. Shower leaked all over the bathroom and a broken floor tile and others need grouted and for a 4 star hotel which cost a lot of money these things are unacceptable

This is a fantastic hotel in a great location in Edinburgh. All of the sites and transportation were only a few minutes walk from the front door. The staff was nice and extremely helpful. My room was nice and beautifully decorated. The hotel also has great restaurants which added a lot to my trip.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable with a huge bed and complimentary snacks. I had a great steak at the restaurant and excellent cocktails at the bar. The location was perfect, within walking distance of many attractions.

Hotel Indigo was the first hotel on our trip to Scotland. It was charming and lovely, with a very delicious breakfast in the morning. The hotel bar was fun and the bartender was so friendly. The room was smaller than expected, especially at the price of the room (nearly 400/night). Overall recommend.

This is an awesome hotel in a great location. It is across the street from the train station for those who plan to travel to other parts of Scotland. I highly recommend this hotel. We will certainly return to this location the next time we are in Edinburgh.

Fantastic staff, super helpful every step of the way even in an extremely busy time. Wonderful with holding bags prior to check-in and after check-out so we could continue to do tourism in Edinburgh. Very close to Waverly station so convenient for train travel. Walking distance to the Royal Mile and tons of tourist locations

We stayed in Edinburgh on the Friday and decided we would like an additional night and found this lovely hotel. Great location, lovely bar and public areas and nice big comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Our rooms AC was broken and was very hot all night. The next day when we checked out our train wasn't leaving for a few hours and we asked if we could keep our luggage at the hotel until our train departed so we wouldn't have to carry it around the city. The receptionist was very rude and told us they could not do it. I spent more than 500 dollars on a room for the night and this is how I was treated. Never staying there again. I never write reviews but this was ridiculous.

Nice hotel with central location. Easily walkable to major attractions, shopping and dining. Our room was the size of a closet though - we barely had room to walk around the bed.

Vår andra resa slutade med Arvid valde samma hotell. Denna gång fick vi ett rum så långt borta från utgången och receptionen som vi tror gick att få. Mycket trappor och dörrar att ta sig igenom med tung väska var inte så kul. Rummet var fint men golvet lutar ganska mycket. I övrigt ett riktigt trevligt hotell

Loved it —would definitely stay here again
Loved this hotel with its friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and the perfect location for exploring Edinburgh. We also tried the hotel restaurant one evening, which was very good. Had a great stay.
