We were traveling thru and reserves thru Hotels.com. We made the reservation at about 6:45 in the evening but didn't notice the special instructions that we needed to contact the hotel 24 hours in advance. The system allowed us to make the reservation but we didn't get a confirmation for it until after the hotel had closed for the night (7pm). When we got to the hotel, everything was dark and the phone number we had just went to voicemail saying it was after hours and to leave a message. That didn't help much when we needed a place to stay. Yes, we missed reading the special instructions, but they were buried in the "see more" section of the hotel description when they should have been on the first line.
