Great location, great house

Great Summer Getaway
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house is great for a family to be cozy together on vacation and yet large enough to sleep 10 VERY comfortably. The back (front depending on how to view it) was very relaxing to have an early morning cup of coffee or late night conversation.

absolutely lovely!
Colleen was a great host and her home was the absolutely perfect way to enjoy the long weekend with friends. There were two families, four adults and four kids under 7. The downstairs was perfect for the bigger kids, the baby had a room, and the adults were comfortable and quiet upstairs. Mere walk from the beach and fireworks and in the center of the st Joseph / Benton Harbor action (golf, carousel, restaurants and more). We had a great time!

Girls Trip
We enjoyed our stay in this house. It was perfect and a great location to so many attractions. Very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend this house. The host was amazing! Got right back to us if we had any questions.

Wonderful stay!
We had a great time! The location was wonderful. Walking distance to the beach and a short drive to downtown. We had 3 adults and 2 kids and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and fun to cook in!

Very Nice
The property was nice! The location was nice! We enjoyed walking to the beach daily. Just a short drive away, we enjoyed a brunch at the Mason Jar Cafe, a birthday ride on the carousel for my youngest, and we found a sweet little bookshop where we all found a little treasure to bring home. We are thankful for this little getaway at this nice little house.

Benton Harbor weekend
Location and overall property were excellent. Everything was as described. Easy access to downtown and beaches. Layout of the house was perfect for our needs. The littles were able to sleep in the bunks in the basement. Extra items for playing and beaching were in the garage. Kitchen and the back porch were inviting and bathrooms were stocked with essentials. Thanks so much to our host.

Wonderful Stay Near Jean Klock Beach
This is the second time we have stayed at this home, and it was just as nice and well kept as 2 years ago. It works well for families, as the finished basement has beds and a full bath for all the children, then 3 bedrooms upstairs. Very nice spacious kitchen, and it is a short walk to the beach and walking paths of Harbor Shores. Would definitely come back!

Great spot!
Great spot, convenient to St Joe. Loved the side-yard and the space in the home. We really loved the three full bathrooms when it came time to getting us all up and out of the house for our event! (There is also a half bath on main floor as well.)

Wedding weekend
Very nice property. Loved the kitchen/dining area. Excellent location. The only criticism was a neighbor complaining about our one car on street while waiting as we parked the other in garage. It was a mere 10 minutes as we unloaded and shifted cars. This happened several times. But overall we had a great time.

Spacious place, great stay!
Rented the property for a place to stay for a small bachelorette gathering. Spacious, clean, cute home! Contact with the owner was great. We had some small issues with the entry but eventually got it to work. The owner was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!

Great Home
This house was very clean, nicely furnished and plenty of room. Stayed here for my wedding instead of a local hotel and it was perfect for the girls to get ready. Easy to find...5 min drive to everything. Just a really nice place to stay. Would definitely stay here again. The owner is super responsive and very accommodating.

Wedding Weekend Stay- A++
My family and I stayed at this property as we geared up for my brothers wedding at a winery near by. We comfortably slept 7 adults with plenty of room to spare. The distance to everything in St Joe’s was PERFECT and the house was immaculate and fully stocked (coffee maker, kitchen essentials etc) upon arrival. We loved hanging before the wedding festivities in the big kitchen or drinking coffee on the back porch. HIGHLY reccommed staying here!

Great location! Home is nice, but could be cleaner. Outside areas need some attention. The porch and front entrance were full of cobwebs, lots of spiders too. Think some power washing is needed.

Great Place for a Family Vacation !
The house was exceptionally clean and nice decor! It suited our needs perfectly , with a room in the basement with 3 beds for the kids and their own bathroom. The large kitchen/dining room with island was appreciated, as we cooked most our meals there and there was plenty of room to seat 8 . Beautiful Jean Kloch beach was only a 5 min. ride by golf cart or bike, and there were plenty of paved walking trails adjacent to this property. Would definitely come back!

Nice house
The house provided plenty of room to accommodate 3 families easily, including 4 children under the age of 5. The master bedroom in particular is nice and large with an attached ensuite. When we arrived, however, it was immediately apparent that the floors throughout the house were not clean. With the COVID situation and since we had a one-year old crawler, plus the fact that there is a $200 cleaning charge added to the reservation cost, this was a huge disappointment. The owner was very apologetic and immediately arranged for the cleaning person to come back, although not until the next morning. She did arrive on time and cleaned the floors. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the grill was very dirty and my husband spent a half hour cleaning it so that we could use it. Overall, the house is nice and hopefully the cleanliness issue will be addressed with the cleaning company so that it will be much cleaner for future renters. The location is convenient to Jean Klock Park/beach which we enjoyed more than the more popular (and crowded) Silver Beach.

Hi Ellen, Thanks so much for taking time to write a review. I'm so sorry to hear about the grill. I actually received Meghan's (the other review which discussed the grill) after your stay so I did not know the grill was dirty until her review/after your stay. If I had known, or if you had let me know during your stay, I absolutely would have had it cleaned. Our cleaning service is now checking the grill after each stay to make sure it is up to par. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. Gratefully, Colleen

Great spot close to beach
We had a nice time staying here for a quick getaway amid the pandemic. We were looking for a place that would be comfortable to spend more time in as we planned to eat meals there and order carryout rather than risk going to a restaurant. Jean Klock Park, within walking distance for our group members not hauling all the beach stuff in their vehicle, was really nice. Less crowded than Silver Beach, which is exactly what we wanted during this period of physical distancing. The *only* reason that it wasn't 5 stars for everything was that the listing advertised a grill, but it was disgusting. I understand this is probably not on the list for the cleaning company on a regular basis, but it was unusable, and that affected our plans for meals at the rental.

We would come back!
It was a great family trip / house was nice, clean, and as advertised. We enjoyed the yard, fire pit, and easy access (stroller walks or drives) to the beaches nearby. Of note / the public trails are golf course tracks. Beautiful to walk / but also being used by golfers or workmen so watch out :)

Unable to stay
Sadly we did not get to stay on the property. The communication was excellent but we had to cancel due to an impending hurricane forecast in Florida. We were hopeful we may get some of our money back understanding it was an unforeseen weather event but unfortunately it wasn't offered. I understand the it is a loss either way, either the business side if you return some of the money and your home is vacant or the buyer side when an unforeseen weather related occurrence. It's a bitter pill to swallow.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Perfect location, minutes from our family and the beach and the town of St Joe. The house accommodated all 2 kids and 5 adults well. Colleen was always just a phone call away, and we were able to let the kids run around outside each evening in the safe neighborhood.

St. Joseph, MI Silver Beach Weekend
This was my first experience with a VRBO property and I was very pleased with it. Sleeping accommodations were all comfortable, with enough bathrooms throughout the house to handle 3 families. Use of the washer and drier was also a plus to keep up with beach and bath towels. The kitchen was amply stocked with dishes, utensils and pots and pans. The only negative comments I have is that the water temperature should be better regulated to prevent children getting accidentally burned as the showers for from cold to hot very quickly.

Beautiful Property
The property was beautiful and very clean inside and out. The parking situation wasn’t the best, but bringing 2 vehicles will have you walking a bit of a ways, but nothing that isn’t doable. A golf cart takes up garage space so a vehicle doesn’t fit in the garage, which leaves one parking space available. A second vehicle will need to parked in an overflow lot. The location is only a few minutes from Silver Beach, which was very nice. The renter was friendly and made herself available for any questions. I recommend this property!

Perfect place for our family reunion
We hand 3 couples and two small kids. We also had several other couples and kids staying near by, and it worked great for us to have them over for a grill out. The beach is within walking distance if you are up for a pretty good walk. Otherwise, it is very easy to drive there. Here is a kayak rental at the beach. My husband and his brothers grew up less than a mile away, so we were very familiar with the area. There is plenty to do with an excellent beach at Jean Klock Park. St. Joseph is lovely to walk around with very nice little shops. The art museum is a small treasure.
