There are two issues. I frequent Manila Hotel as a personal retreat. I always highly recommend it. I become a prestige member each year. this visit was not pleasant. Normally a deposit of 4,000p is required to pay for incidentals. This time I was required to prepay for any charges to my room. I started with 10,000p and was later required to add 15,000p. That is not a deposit. it is a required prepayment, and quite honestly, when I was asked to replenish my account it was while I was with my guest at dinner. I have never been so humiliated.
Next, I booked my stay in early May for mid May. I booked on line. The hotel is advertised with certain amenities. One of which is their pool. The pool is a highlight for me. I enjoy dining pool side. However, at the time of booking, the pool was under renovation but not mentioned on the website. When I arrived, it was completely closed. It was not what I paid for and the hotel did not have the decency to notify me that the pool was closed prior to checking in. I paid for the pool. I was not able to receive what I paid for. They informed me when I checked in. At that point, I could no longer cancel my reservation. My time there was literally awful.
