"The hotel is on an island of the Periyar river, surrounded by incredibly beautiful forests and streams. The best part is that it is 5 km away from the nearest village and there are almost no people around. A unique situation. When you sit on the lawn and watch the river rushing over its rocky bed, or when you bath in one of the natural pools in the river (or in the hotel pool), it feels like paradise. "For starters when I booked it said air conditioned room/ when I arrived it was not so wasn't impressed with hotels.com The place is nice, helpful staff and nice grounds man. The cottage is cute and a good size. It's a little challenge finding this place but it's well signed which is helpful. To get to the cliffs go through either bamboo village or the ally way next to it- along here is some cool shops and restaurants"

"I stayed two nights, but did due to an early arrival at 06:00 request an early check-in. The initial information was that this would be a full night payment. This was at check-in time reduced to 1/2. My stay was very pleasant and relaxed. This was mainly due to the incredible friendly staff. Here I would highlight the security manager, the restaurant staff and the taxi driver. They all did their utmost to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible. The hotel it somewhat old, and could use a bit more maintenance for this reason the price seemed to be in the high end."
