A relaxing weekend

Relax on the river
Great cabin with everything we needed for a wonderful weekend of relaxation. Comfy bed, nice amenities and close to hiking and bars/restaurants. Would definitely stay again

We had a nice stay and saw an Eagle fishing one morning and geese the next morning. Beautiful screened in porch to go out and have your morning coffee.

Charming Cabin
We had a great stay. The host checked in but we didn’t need anything- the cabin is just as pictured with great views of the Des Moines River. The area has nice parks and lakes- can’t wait to come back!

Nice getaway by the river
A lovely cabin for a getaway by the river: clean, well-equipped, and good communication with the owners. The only thing to be aware of is that it's fairly near a large county road, so there is frequent traffic noise - don't come here for silence, but if you don't need silence, it is great.

Secluded and beautiful!
The river has access though its a little low right now. We had a blast exploring. Theres tons of fishing spots near by and a gorgeous secret swim area in the state park near by. The whole family was so happy with our stay! Everyone wants to come back already!

Nice Cabin Getaway
Loved everything about this place. Beautiful view of river. Had a fire going for many hours, unlimited firewood to burn. The screened in porch was nice, had big beautiful rustic table with fairy lights. Don’t have to pack much cause it’s fully stocked with pretty much everything. It’s really private. Big yard for dogs to run. Would definitely recommend!

Family get away
We had a great time. It was myself, my husband, son and his best friend (13 yr old boys) and our 2 Dobermans. The dogs loved the open yard to run and play and just relax. The guys got to go down to the river to fish. We were also close to Lake Lacey state park and Lake Sugema, where we got to enjoy the beach at Lake Lacey and some fishing at Lake Sugema. The cabin was very nice. The boys loved the loft. They had plenty of room to play their games and have fun. It was so nice to have a full kitchen. The screened in porch was so nice to sit out on to just listen to the river and the birds. There is also a fire pit to have a bonfire and cook hotdogs hamburgers and let’s not forget about the s’mores. We will definitely do this again.

Quick Get-a-way
We had a relaxing and peaceful time staying at this lovely cabin. Sitting in the screened in porch and listening to the river and wildlife was rejuvenating. The place had everything we needed and is situated close to some very quaint, historic villages. The dogs were in absolute heaven sniffing around the property. Kelli was delightful to deal with. Will definitely be back.

Loved the location
There were 4 adult ladies and 3 full beds. So 1 sleeping on the love seat was an option, but didn't work out too well. The cabin was very woodsy feel and we lived the pine walls and cathedral ceilings. The lift was a great idea for 2 beds, but we didn't feel safe on the stairs without a good light source at nite. Very close to lots of things to go do in the Keosauqua area.

Relaxing stay
We had a wonderfully relaxing time at the cottage. The cabin had what we needed and the screened porch was a great place to watch the sunset. The history of the Manning Hotel is worth a visit. Kellie was a very communicative host and quick to respond.

So relaxing!
The cabin was so cute and so quiet that you could hear the river even during the day. Lots of flat space outside for my dog to move around and sniff everything. So many birds, geese with babies, possums, ground hogs(even saw one climb a tree) @ cows. Fishing for channel cats was easy right from the shore. Definitely want to comeback.

Spring Break Getaway
This cabin is just as listed. Cozy, but comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit, and eating our meals on the screened in porch. The cabin is cozy, but there is plenty of room outside to walk around or okay some yard games. If you’re looking to fish, keep in mind that you do have to climb down the bank to access the river. We didn’t have an issue with this, but it’s not easily assessable to all. Lacey Keosaqua State Park and Lake Sugema are a short drive away. We enjoyed both. The cabin is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, and Kellie was great at communicating with us and answering all of our questions. We would stay again.

Arrived just before sunset. Stayed outside under the light of the full moon. Geese flying overhead way past sundown. Enjoyed the daycore. Many hand made furniture items. A beautiful log cabin.

Surrounded by nature
My sister and I stayed for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cabin is right along the river. The geese were enjoying the sand bar on the opposite side so we had the perfect view. Kellie was great. She always responded immediately and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

Quiet,relaxing easy access to food
So glad we rented this cabin. There was easy access to food at Boyd’s market and excellent swimming at the country club less than three minutes away the state park was awesome kept the boys occupy four hours.
