Didn’t like the fact no lift! Found stairs (2 flights) difficult. Staff were friendly. Room was big and bright with sea view. Breakfast reasonably priced and good. Location good.

We had a lovely room with balcony but unfortunately it looked over the roof of the kitchen I think and a bit industrial looking out to the left . I would just ask for a sea view room higher up .

Fantastic location just 2minutes from the beach and a lovely walk. The bar and food were great. Hotel itself was ok but i didnt sleep very well at all because the pillows were so hard. Also lovely gesture of a bottle of water in the room but the top of the bottle had not been washed properly . They reuse the bottles and re fill..more cleaning required on the bottles. Having said that i would stay there again

Room 203 is tired ! The shelf beside the bed fell off the wall but was fixed the next day. The head board was damaged and badly patched , the shower room towel rail / radiator leaked which we reported so it was turned off so the room was cold each morning, the curtains didn’t fit properly and let in the light. We had 1 packet of biscuits 3 mornings and none on the 4th despite there being 2 of us in the room. Having said all that the room was cheap and we couldn’t fault the staff. We enjoyed our stay. The menu in the restaurant didn’t state all the food that could be made gluten free but at the end of our stay the waiter and kitchen staff did adapt the food for my husband who has coeliac disease. We would have eaten in the restaurant more had we realised that earlier.

Nothing my partner got burnt on the radiator to close to shower and there is a loude noise coming from the plumbing that wakes you up early hrs of the morning. So dont expect a lie in avoid this place.

I liked the room but it was very hot and I had to open the widow... Also very noisy from people walking above.... The bed was good but I didn't manage to sleep I was awake most of the night

The dining area was nice, evening food very good. I was surprised that breakfast wasn't included in the cost. Comfortable lounge area and a great place to have met up with family post new year.

A lovely hotel.
On arrival, check-in was quick and easy.The staff were so pleasant and helpful.The hotel is so lovely,the rooms down stairs are big,and the decor is so nice.Out the back of the hotel,the views are awesome,over looking the sea and the best voted beach in the country.The food was second too none,breakfast,was without a doubt,one of the nicest we have had.Location of the hotel,could not be better. Now for our room,we had a small double,which was cosy,but with a few problems,we felt.The room was tiny,with not much room.No chairs to sit on,to watch the TV,but they had a 4 foot fan in there,in the middle of December. Two things that did annoy us,the first one,there was two steps going down to a very lovely bathroom,but the noise of them when you stood on them,was horrendous.Get up in the middle of the night,to go to the loo,that's everyone awake.Secondly,the shower was gorgeous,but,nowhere to put your soap,shower gel,had to put them on the floor.Easily sorted. We loved our stay,and would go back,but not in room 204.

Lovely hotel, room not so great
We've stayed at this lovely hotel several times ,its beautifully located on a hill in Gorleston ,overlooking the sea. This was our worst ever stay. Allocated a twin room over the main entrance and the carpark, we suffered heavy noise & disturbance ,till the early hours of Sunday,due to revellers at a noisy disco event, cars revving up, leaving & departing continuously . Some guests sounded as if they were moving heavy furniture around at 1-2am! (We had complained on arrival that our beds had no mattress protectors ,just a sheet directly over the mattress -ugh!! We were given two extra single flat sheets, as apparently the hotel dont possess single bed mattress protectors .Hard to believe in a classy hotel....The pillows were rock-hard,impossible to sleep comfortably on. Our bathroom pipes appeared to be blocked,as the bathwater took 45 mins to drain away ... The bathroom fan was incredibly noisy. There are no nets or voiles on the room's windows. On opening the heavy curtains in the morning ,to let the daylight in, we noticed smokers and arriving car drivers, looking upwards and able to see us in our nightwear. Hastily drew the curtains again! Despite this pretty awful experience ,we still rate this hotel for its scenic location ,beautiful terraces and friendly ,efficient reception staff.

Good location and comfortable rooms, great food too. We enjoyed our stay, we have been visiting family in the area. We had a meal in the restaurant the first evening and it was delicious. Breakfast was good too. The beds are comfortable and the en suite good quality and accessible. I would prefer having a grab rail in the shower, and I would ask for a room which wasn't above the baring future as one night it was noisy and disturbed my sleep. I am a light sleeper. We would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

Decent breakfast, warm room with comfy bed. Complimentary still and sparkling water in the room and generous tea/coffee facilities in the room. Hotel let us know ahead of time that a function would be on and there would be music, but it didn't really affect us.
