Dejligt sted, fin indretning, god beliggenhed i højlandet. Varmt værelse uden mulighed for at åbne vindue. Lidt for fugtigt når man havde været i bad.

A warm welcome to both us and our small dog awaited us, the rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. It was a very short walk to shops, bars and restaurants and the water front. Breakfast was huge and delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay

This property was the only one left to book, and for a good reason. We booked into the suites and it was $550 CAD and was worth about $200. The diesel blowers blew diesel into our room the entire time. We couldn’t keep the windows open without the smell of diesel wafting though the suite. The beds were comfortable enough. We went down to breakfast and they didn’t have room for us. We paid $550 for a crappy room with no breakfast. The staff were short and unfriendly. I did not enjoy my experience here and would not come back.

I stayed in one of the cellars. It was a neat experience but the price I paid for the amenities was poor.the building itself is beautiful but I should have just spent a bit more for a larger room. The cellar was very small so much so I couldn’t turn around with my back pack. The showers are in a separate area you have to walk down the hall, just so others are aware. The worst part of the stay was a thin camping foam on a hard wood base. I’m only 110 lbs and I sank through and my hip bones were against the wood all night. I wouldn’t suggest those rooms to anyone but the others looked nice. Also no hair dryer in the room and I had to ask after which was inconvenient and someone had to bring it to me from the front

Rooms, especially the bathrooms were super tiny. Shower was barely enough to stand, and to stop the water not going everywhere they had these curtains which made the small shower very dark. It is ok as we stayed only one night.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The apartments are actually on a road behind the hotel, not inside the hotel. The apartment was spacious and perfect for our group of four. Quiet and clean with good amenities. We had free parking in front of the apartments. Would recommend if you need room for a family.

Stunning location, very clean, lovely staff in the main hotel. The apartments feel like a bit of an odd outpost/after thought and wasn't as four star as the main hotel. We had some maintenance issues with our apartment which were partly resolved while we were staying, though it was concerning that the cleaners hadn't reported any of them (particularly heavy radiator falling off the wall, bathroom door unable to open more than half way).

Excelente ubicación, accesible a todo a pie y muy cercano a la estación del tren. El desayuno estaba delicioso y muy completo, el personal demasiado amable. Nos quedamos en las habitaciones - celda, son algo pequeñas, pero las literas son muy cómodas y las amenidades de baño son muy buenas también, solo la escalera para subir a la cama de arriba estaba algo complicada, pero en general, todo excelente.

Dogs barking in the hallway at 6am. Paid over $300 CDN a night for no breakfast, queen sized bed, and a pullout bed from the couch. Every 8 to 10 minutes a blower would go off outside. I do not recommend this overyly priced hotel at all!

The hotel is modern, clean and tidy. Good location. Staff attitude in checking in not great. We had a breakdown on way here and i phoned forward to let them know we woukd be late. No parking spaces available on arrival ans wife had injury to leg that reduced her ability to walk. Staff member said "youll have to drop her off and park elsewhere" . Asked where i could get food at 945 pm, staff member sucked teeth shook head and pointed out a local restaurant which wasnt able to help. No direction to elsewhere. In street parking restricted and nearby car park very dark not many cars there no visible security or cctv. In summary hotel needs sufficient parking for guests. Staff attitude could have been better

Hi PaulI am sorry you found my attitude not great at check in.Firstly, my 'sucking in teeth' was more in sympathy as I know, as I live here that no restaurants serve food after 9pm, apart from Spice Tandoori & that was where I suggested you try.Parking - we have 10 spaces for 41 rooms so it is impossible for everyone to have a parking space - this is why we do not advertise parking as it is allocated on a first come, first served basis.I directed you to the overflow parking we suggest to all guests - The West End Carpark.To be honest, not many high street hotels have parking.What I said was ' you can drop your wife & bags off & take to the room before you move the car.I feel you had a very bad day with the car breaking down, then arriving at the hotel late to find no parking & no restaurants open, these things added to your already stressful day!I am glad you at least enjoyed your room.Many ThanksYvonne

Short Stay
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff are so friendly and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. My husband is disabled and this is the best room we have ever stayed in . The breakfast is really enjoyable , would recommend The Garrison and we will be back.

Great place to stay!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at The Garrison. The room was very comfy, with plenty of space, modern and clean. The breakfast is great value for money and tastes incredible! The staff are highly accommodating and very friendly. I would recommend the place to anyone wanting to stay in the area, but I’d say it’s also worth travelling for if you’re further afield too! Definitely planning another stay in the not too distant future.

Slightly disappointing
The bed was very comfortable and slept very well. The downside were the lack of hand wash / soap, shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom - despite this being a selling point of the room when being advertised. My wife rang the duty manager on the evening. They turned up with various liquids (in refill bottles) under their arm and attempted to 'top-up' the missing liquids in the various pumps. Unfortunately they were unable to provide any replacement hand soap at the time (no soap bar even?) but managed to fill the shower gel and shampoo. Although the shampoo was now 'sorted' - when we tried to use the pump mechanism for the shower gel, the mechanism was not working (this should have been tested when being filled) - so we still had no shower gel (lucky we brought our own). The cleaning staff should check these things when they are cleaning a room

Thank you for leaving a review. we would like to apologise for the complimentary soaps not being full for your arrival.On the night you stayed the manager on duty came up straight away and refilled all the bottles (large refill bottles are always used when topping up the toiletries, this is what she was carrying)i think "attempted" is a little unfair of a word to choose as all bottles were topped up fully, excluding the hand soap which you seemed happy about as you had your own for the night, and said you could use the shower gel if needed. The handle for the shampoo just needed twisted to the open position for use.The manager also said she would inform housekeepers in the morning about the hand soap and they would refill as soon as they could. However, as you had the "Do not Disturb" sign on your door this could not be rectified as we could not access your room.We are glad you found the beds very comfortable and had a good night sleep.

Fantastic hotel Friendly staff amazing breakfast
This was our second stay at The Garrison as we were so impressed the first time. Room was spotless and housekeeping change your towels everyday they also made sure our tea, coffee biscuits etc were always topped up. The breakfast was absolutely out this world with a range of choices that would suit everyone. We had a takeaway one night and they provided cutlery napkins and heated the plates which I thought was a nice touch. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. The Garrison is so close to lovely pubs restaurants train station and all amenities. We will definitely be back

Top tier. Most places that state the are dog friendly have rules regarding where your dog can or can’t go however we found that this really was a good dog friendly hotel. Didn’t worry if he barked a little, offered him a sausage at breakfast and he was allowed on the bed too. Room was perfect for what we needed, complimentary water and snacks was a lovely touch. And the breakfast was a great amount and good selection kept up full for most of the day! 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back.
