Not acceptable
Disrespectable room mate. Polish tv without earphones. Toilet and shower really dirty. I'm disappointed. The staff very helpful, though

Hyggeligt men overrated hostel
Overordnet en god oplevelse, men rigtig god mad på hotellet. Desværre meget midt plads på hotellerne og en del mangler, men et fint sted med god placering

For de unge
Vi havde booket 4 overnatninger til os + 1 til vores søn på 16, der ankom senere. Han måtte ikke bo "alene" og der var ikke garanti for at vi kom på samme værelse. Der måtte derfor ombookes til et familieværelse den sidste nat, hvilket faktisk var lidt billigere end vores første løsning. Det undrer selvfølgelig lidt. Hostelet er moderne, men virker mest rette mod unge(vi er omkring 50). Der er meget larm i fællesområdet(livemusik/DJ, det er selvfølgelig positivt), men man savner et stilleområde. Der er heller ikke mulighed for at lave sin egen mad og alt det der kan købes virker lidt dyrt

Not really a hostel - no kitchen area, and no outside food allowed. Everything feels like it's meant to extract a few euros. Luggage store is free across most properties I stayed at, but here it's charged per hour. Next to no atmosphere because there's no common area to socialise in. Bathroom and showers feel dated, vents stuck with thick dust.

The bed frame was not properly cleaned before my arrival as there was a fresh wad of gum jhst stuck onto a railing when I arrived. The bathrooms had not been cleaned during the three days I was at the hostel since the staff had not changed the trash bin in the stall I would go to consistently over the past days.

The Hostel cannot do anything about the individuals you stay with so we will pass on that part. I was supposed to stay 2 nights and just stayed the one and got a hotel for the 2nd night. The bathroom facilities were horrible. Unused toiled paper everywhere. Dirty bathrooms and showers as well as no toilet paper in most of the stalls. When you walk in to the facility, it appears nice and clean. As you get to where you're staying, it was far from. Very disappointing.

Kind of far from the touristy parts of Dublin. 20 minute walk on average to get to the places I wanted to go every day, but close to public transport. Also, the toilet in my 6-bedroom all female dorm didn't flush properly the whole time I was there for 4.5 days. I liked the beds themselves though and lots of storage space in the crates. Good social atmosphere, met some friends here. Bit noisy though. Glad I stayed here but would likely try somewhere else next time I come to Dublin.

Honestly, hostels are not what they used to be. I of course expected groups of high school groups and college kids traveling around to be staying there, but due to the housing crisis in Dublin, hostels have become a place for the homeless population to reside. The staff tries to avoid that, but there are workarounds, as I’ve been told by some of the homeless residents. In the room, people were smoking out the tiny balcony window/door and all the smoke was coming inside. I was up coughing all night. That is probably more of a unique circumstance, but wanted to share my experience. Besides that, there is a lot of theft and random people sneaking into the hostel, despite there being security. Just a few things to keep in mind depending on the type of person you are. The staff were absolutely wonderful though. Truly understanding and kind. If backpacking around and need a place to crash, of course would still recommend, but just keep your wits about you and be careful where you put your stuff and who is around you at all times.

Never again. They wouldn’t refund me. There were some shady characters so I went across the street and booked a room in the Maldron. When I went back to ask for a refund they said they could cancel the reservation but not refund me. Money hungry because they know their sub par and need all the revenue they can get.

Ich habe musste dieses Etablissement im Rahmen einer Schulischen Fahrt besuchen. Hier habe ich hauptsächlich in Hostel genächtigt, musste aufgrund der Zustände aber auch zeitweise ein eigenes Zimmer buchen - schlimme Zustände zeigen sich im Hostel wie Hotel folgendermaßen: - Sauberkeit unterirdisch - überall Müll und stinkender Geruch - man hat es schwierig, sich nicht in der Unterkunft zu übergeben. Mülleimer wird über eine Woche am Stück nicht ausgeleert, trotz Meldung. In einen 6-Bett Zimmer kommt nun mal auch ein bisschen Müll zusammen, der vielleicht nach paar Tagen mal entfernt werden sollte. Unterm Bett liegen alte Karten, Harhummis, in den Schränken kleben Kaugummis - unbeschreibbare Zustände. Wenn das Personal zur Reinigung gebeten wird, wird auch nur oberflächlich gereinigt - anscheinend weiß man leider nicht was Sauberkeit überhaupt ist. Ein Handtuch muss man sich für 4 Euro leihen - an sich halb so wild, aber wenn ein frisch gemietetes Handtuch schon mehrere Haare anhängend hat - wie bei mir, frage ich mich, wie man hierfür noch Geld verlangen kann. - Sicherheit nicht gewährleistet, es gibt zwar Sicherheitsleute - hier werden aber unerwünschte Gäste vom weiblichen Sicherheitsdienst mit körperlicher Gewalt aus dem Hostel geschlagen. Das Hotel wäre sicherlich ohne Sicherheitsdienst sicherer. Zusätzlich ....

Lively, a short walk from plenty to do and see, as well as a lovely staff members. I appreciate everyone at reception and the bar/cafe for their patience with me on my first solo trip out of the U.S. Ill be sure to come back to the Generator the next time Im in Ireland. Overall my stay was enjoyable barring a single issue that was promptly resolved. Another thing that didn’t impact my visit but could potentially be an issue is that their bathroom and shower rooms need some maintenance.
