All in all it was a horrible experience. The cooler in the room was not working, so it was horribly warm and impossible to get a good night sleep. The first evening we asked the reception to do something about it…. We got a fan. The day after I spoke to the reception again and asked if we could get a new room with a cooling system that worked. We have small children and they were very upset with the heat in the room. The receptionist promised that they would find a solution and call me. We never got a call or anything. After that we just gave up getting any help from the hotel. It is too much money to spend in a very old room were it is like an oven and the staff don’t help with making it right.

The hotel was very good very clean and suitably situated for our weekend. Breakfast was excellent! The only bad point was that the swimming pool was closed all weekend and on the hottest weekend of the year and with 2 children it was a major issue! We would’ve stayed at a different hotel with a pool if we knew, the hotel should’ve emailed me before we got there to say but nothing was mentioned until I’d paid for our stay!

Check-in was incredibly slow. We tried to check-in early but we’re asked to return at 4pm at which point the queue was out the door! We returned twice over the next two hours to find the queue just as long. Eventually we bit the bullet and queued for around 40mins. Otherwise the hotel was all fine. Staff friendly, food good, room clean etc.

Good size room and bathroom however the temperature control for the shower wasn’t working properly and water was too hot. USB port by bed was broken so had to rely on power pack we had brought with us

Great location and well maintained property. The outdoor ashtray/smoking cone is positioned right outside the hotel’s front doors though, so you always have to walk through a waft of smoke to enter the hotel…seems like something that could easily be done away with as it only serves a minority of customers, but that’s just my opinion.

A lovely stay for a couples weekend in Brighton. The staff were very helpful and room service was speedy. Rooms, hallways etc were spotless and very modern. Only recommendation would be to update the pool and changing areas to be as clean and modern as the rest of the hotel. Would recommend and in perfect position to beach, pier, attractions, shops and restaurants.

Special instructions weren't passed onto property, so sofabed wasn't made up on arrival. Had to wait 30 minutes for someone to make it up, during which time I couldn't shower/change (as waiting) so delayed my evening significantly. McDonald's wrapper found on the floor, so room not adequately cleaned. Every other guest seemed to have robe and slippers for spa, nothing in our room. Assume another failure of cleaning staff. Reception staff (Antonio?) indifferent, blamed Expedia. Breakfast excellent, to their credit. Sadly not the worst hotel I've stayed in in Brighton, but still wouldn't come back here.

Room was lovely but there were a few things to improve on. Check-in was delayed as room wasn't ready which is really inconvenient with a 2 year old. Pool facilities really need upgraded. Sockets didn't work in room, kettle didn't work and toilet didn't flush

Lovely hotel with great views. Had an issue on arrival as the images of the bathrooms on Expedia looked nothing like in real life (shows lovely spacious bathroom with wall in waterfall shower and ended up being cramp room with a tiny bath, horrible screen and rubbish shower) I complained to the front desk and they ended up moving us as said it wasn’t a fair description on Expedia site to the actual reality Staff were fantastic and hotel is lovely (unless it’s the bathrooms in queen rooms) Would happily stay again but only in king rooms

Great seaside hotel
Room was fabulous, great views, massive bed. Breakfast was good, although was a bit of a wait to sit down. Check in and Check out were relatively seamless. Only downside is the parking is expensive. You get a code, but not a discount or free parking.

Flott Hotel
Dette er et flott Hotel rett ved stranden. Hotellet har gammeldags eleganse men rommene er moderne, rene og komfortabel. Skal booke samme hotell neste gang jeg er i Brighton.

Great staff/views but poorly designed reno vation
Hotel was recently renovated but unfortunately renovation was not well designed- especially bathroom with the smallest shower I’ve ever used- was positively claustrophobic. Im 5’7” 170lbs and could barely move w/o touching at least one wall- anyone larger than myself would be like squeezing a balloon into a small jar. Sink was no better with a spout so close to sink edge u could barely get your hands under it with water constantly spilling over and onto the counter and floor. Thermostat didnt work and heat system was problematic. Colors and surfaces were uninspiring and drab. Next renovation needs a better designer.

Great Hotel
Absolutely brilliant stay, breakfast was fantastic, 5 stars for everything. Visit Brighton a lot and stayed in lots of hotels including The Grand and this is by far the best.
